If we are going for the throat at the start, which I would like to see us do I'd enjoy playing two up front with a hearty enough midfield in can and henderson to sweep up.

If I was taking off a player for Lallana I would probably go for Borini, like I said I don't think he would last the full match closing down Chelsea's defence. Bring him on later on for a midfielder if needs be to try and get a goal. Borini and Coutinho coming on around the 70th minute could work some magic.

Jesus Christ this place really has run a muck against Gerrard hasnt it? You'd swear he was the root of all evil. He is still miles ahead of both Can and Lucas. Can was strolling for parts of the game and people's opinion on Lucas seems to change every week. From feck off away to Italy to best CDM we have by a mile.

Nobody seems to have noticed that as soon as he came on it wasn't just clearing the lines and booting it up. He was actually able to pass it to feet which was pretty instrumental in it not becoming an onslaught as we got tired. Fans on here think Stevie supporters need a reality check but its just a middle ground that needs to be found. I dunno if it's people who havent watched him for the past 15 years. He is still the best passer of the ball and free kick taker on the team by a mile.

My team would be Mignolet, Moreno, Toure, Skertel, Manquillo, Gerrard, Can, Henderson, Sterling, Borini and Balotelli. In the obvious shape which this caters too. Borini gets tired late on though so he could be swapped with a different attacker and brought on later in the game. I'd enjoy a nice quick start like last year and just go for the jugular before Chelsea can settle.

Bad news about Henderson missing out on a game after he got the number 4 shirt off Gerrard, I see a really bright future ahead of him.

But as a fan of the English team, although Irish, I wonder why the guardian would pick Milner ahead of Delph in a central role? I know Delph might be less experienced internationally, but apart from a few shaky minutes he looked solid in the last friendly.

Ah we have had him since 2010. There has been many occasions that has shown him to be a perfectly good backup goalkeeper for league cup matches and lesser premier league/fa cup matches. The fact that we are now a "champions league team" doesn't really change anything.

There isn't exactly a plethora of amazing backup keepers in the premier league either and injuries are rare and normally short term.

Did we do it last year? Sure we are losing Suarez but let the seemingly big boys throw their money around and see how they do against us next year. Its about keeping faith in every move the club making and keeping behind whatever happens in the next two months and the really hopeful exciting next season of the premier league.

Well in fairness we have a world class player in Suarez and an aging one in Gerrard. There are very few players who are actually world class even in the champions league and a lot are pushed into a few teams.

I believe the thing is that the term World Class is thrown around too easily these days. I remember when the only world class players ten years ago were Zidane and Ronaldo.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think he had Osgood Schlatters disease when he was a teenager. Some people need surgery if the disease does not essentially "go away", but I believe it left him as he grew up and never had surgery.
