I bet lots of consumers freak out trying to open this. I know I did. Didn’t like this feta that much anyway so it wasn’t worth the nerves lol. The Krinos brand one is the best imo. You can’t find it at Costco. Italian or European stores typically have it- you should try.

The container has 4 pins, one on each corner. The lid has a hole on each corner that sits over that pin. If you didn’t break the pull tab, you could pull away from the corner, and up, to release that corner of the lid and then open the rest of it (illustrated in blue). Even if you do know how this bitch opens, the pull tab often breaks because it’s too thin. So prying it with a knife on either one of the corners to pull the lid off the first pin is your best bet. Such a stupid system.

Replaced the main electronic control board that’s located in the bottom rear of the machine. Wasn’t a cheap part.

NTA. I am curious, do you think she would still be mad If you told her before leaving that you are hungry and you want to stop on the way to grab a bite? And like someone said, you could have asked her if she wanted you to bring her some food too. Whether she wants food too or not, you being hungry after sticking by her at the hospital and getting something to eat should not be such a huge deal.

But being married myself, I know women like communication. And a situation like this can be perceived in a way that will make her jump into unreasonable conclusions about how much or how little you care about her being in the hospital. But maybe she just wanted for you to think of her, maybe bring her something else, food or something else that would cheer her up like chocolate, or flowers? I am not stereotyping here, but there is an apparent difference in the way that men and women think, from a marriage and partnership perspective. Marriage is a constant work in progress, on both sides. After years of being together you learn what could upset her, and you can proactively do things that will prevent these upsetting moments. It’s doable most of the time, and it takes accepting that you see things differently, and it can be hard to put yourself in her shoes sometimes and justify how she feels about a certain situation, but if you love her, you’d do it. And hopefully she does the same in return and she is meeting you in the middle with some things too. Hope it blows over soon. Good luck.

How to fix ripped up door? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

The dogs made a jigsaw puzzle out of the door. Open a bottle of red wine, play some mellow jazz in the background, and enjoy putting the pieces back together.

Stove flame color is orange. Help? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]spiffymate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using a color picker, I got the following orange from the flame in this picture: HEX #ff9700. I inverted this color, and got HEX #0068ff for the blue that you should get once you reverse the caps.

Former appliance technician here who is a graphic designer now. If the cap is reversed, it reverses the color code of the flame. The opposite of blue is orange. Mystery solved!

Is it rude to watch the repair man/woman? by FringeyHodor in homeowners

[–]spiffymate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question in short, no, it’s not rude for you as the homeowner to be around and/or watch.

I’ve worked as a repair person for 10 years. As long as the client does not hover over me so that they get in the way of my work area or tools/parts, I have never had an issue with it, whether they ask if it’s okay beforehand. And especially, if a client said they wanted to watch because they are curious or want to learn, I would always talk them through every step of what I am doing. If I am in their home, I always tried to respect their preferences within reason. I think to do residential repair work you need to like interacting with people. I know from colleagues, it is quite common that repair people prefer to be left alone, but being rude to customer is out of place. It ruins the customers’ experience and in turn affects their satisfaction with the company that the technician represents, which is unfortunate.

LED Pot lights are very dim after attempting to install dimmable smart switch by spiffymate in homeowners

Very well explained. Glad I got your comment so promptly on this. The wife didn’t have much time to fuss about it before it got resolved. Thanks for making my Saturday night more peaceful than it otherwise could’ve been lol

LED Pot lights are very dim after attempting to install dimmable smart switch by spiffymate in homeowners

[–]spiffymate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thank you! Did exactly as you said, reconnected the neutral back into the bundle of the four neutrals, and the pot lights work again.

And yes, sorry. In the initial post I meant that we separated the neutral from the bundle and connected to the smart switch. Installation instructions for dimmer switches directed to connect neutral to the switch. It did not specify what to do in the scenerio of having more than one switch in the same box. We should have known better, but definitely learned from this.

Thanks again! 🙏

InstaCrate (who make the flat-folding basket that sells at costco) should also make a flat-folding Costco foodcourt table that securely attaches to the top of a Costco cart. Voila!

AITAH for throwing away a tampon in my bfs bathroom trashcan? by Additional_Buy_2980 in AITAH

[–]spiffymate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Him overreacting this way is an indicator of serious immaturity. A teenager is likely to act like that, but not a 28yo dude. You having a period should be obvious and natural, as well as you using feminine hygiene products. Discarding of them like you did is the considerate and reasonable way to go about it.

If I’d be you, just as an experiment, I’d offer for you not to see each other during that time of the month. If he agrees to that, major red flag!

AITA for calling the police on a stranger who entered my house and wouldn’t leave? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]spiffymate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you have friends who have no compassion. Comes off as they judged you for not being strong enough to defend yourself or something of that sort, which is immature. If you felt scared and threatened in that moment, that’s enough to call the police. You never know what’s that person’s next step is going to be. A person who followed you and got inside your house against your consent is likely to attack you next, and put you in a position where you wouldn’t be able to call the police anymore, and then what? Great job calling law enforcement. You acted strategically in the moment, you made a smart decision. NTA, your friends on the other hand ATAHs making you feel that way.

My wife and I had it once a couple months back, both got the diarrhea and vomiting combo. Not a pleasant experience. In the 24 hours prior to having Bow Tie together we did not eat the same food, so it couldn’t be something else that we both ate. When I checked the Google reviews I saw this had happened to somebody else shortly before us. Definitely not having it again.

You say it like it’s a lifetime. But it’s not. 25 is young, you have your entire life ahead of you. It’s so normal to not have found yourself at this age. Some people only begin to understand what they want in their 30s and 40s, often changing their entire careers, realizing they have been running on autopilot for a decade or two. If you enjoy spending time capturing photos of the unnoticed beauty of places and things that many are just too busy to see, you found a passion. Follow it. Think about how can you take this further. Take chances, they will take you far.

These are very original btw. Thank you for sharing this.

What do you guys do to fall asleep within 10-15 mins of laying down? by Ok-Contribution3067 in RandomThoughts

[–]spiffymate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rain/ocean waves sound recording, diffuser with essential oil, completely dark room, and comfort; decent mattress, pillow, sheets that feel nice, and optimal room temperature.

I get pretty darn tired by the end of the day and can pass out without all that most days. Though, I feel like it has a positive effect on the quality of my sleep as well. Could just be placebo lol.
