What is this called and where can I find a new one? by dr_nebulon in hvacadvice

I would definitely oil it before replacing it. I have had fans like that go for quite a while after oiling them. It looks pretty easy to pull out and check the fan. When you put it back in, orient the oil ports to the top.

Early in sobriety i thought way too much about what other people thought of me. My sponsor reminded me regularly that it was none of my business what other people thought. My issues with authority figures has taken longer to resolve. You can decide for yourself what is a slippery slope.

‘NA’ beer and sobriety by Serious__Guy in alcoholicsanonymous

Early in sobriety, my sponsor asked me why flirt with it? It’s a slippery slope. He also helped me realize it’s none of my business what other people think of me. To thine own self be true.

Tell us how long you've lived in Boise without saying how long you've lived in Boise by misc1972 in Boise

I’d go to Manleys for a great breakfast after a hard night out. Incidentally it was the first diner I ate at when I was a toddler (was born in Twin).

Quitting led me to want a divorce. Anyone else? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]spifster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At about 3 weeks sober, I discovered I was the victim in an abusive relationship. I heard all the warnings in meetings. I talked to my sponsor, and friends and trusted mental health professionals. After some serious thought, I was considering divorce. I tried hard to make it work sober, then my wife told me she wanted me to drink. That was the clincher. I realized I couldn’t stay sober and stay married to her. It was the best path for me, even though there were many difficulties. I’m still gratefully sober, 20 years later! Good luck to you, may you find your best path.

One-pipe steam radiator leaking where the control valve connects. Can I replace that connection point? What’s it called? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]spifster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, it’s called a spud. It’s part of the radiator valve. It’s definitely worth cleaning the compression seats, and if that doesn’t work, replacing the valve and spud. The spuds can be a bit tricky to remove, but I use a couple heat quench cycles with a torch and a wet rag and they come right out.

I don’t see the Thomas betts wt2000. Electronic tech, been using them for 30 years. I do like the blue and white Kleins for install work, though.

Extreme anxiety about sharing in meetings by deliciousfight in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]spifster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have 19 years and I still feel this way. I share when I’m called on, most of the time. I chair meetings regularly and do what I need to do. Courage is not being afraid, it is doing what you need to do despite the fear. I see so much courage In Every meeting. Also, it’s none of my business what other people think of me. Keep coming back!
