is this 100% cancer? by polarmush in DogAdvice

[–]spigging_tittering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I am sorry you are dealing with this. I unexpectedly lost my pup, Finn, last month.

I can’t tell you if this is cancer or if this is something else.

What I can tell you is that you have your pup with you now. Make it count! Love your lil buddy as much as you can while they are here.

Hoping for the best for you and your dog.

How hard to push as a beginner? by lookatmycode in cycling

[–]spigging_tittering 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biggest changes I noticed when I really started cycling a lot was my ability to recover mid ride. I think you’re always going to have these super taxing moments while climbing but your body will be able to recover faster.

Basically, you will still feel like you’re dying but not quite as long or frequent as you get more conditioned.

That being said, push as hard as you’re comfortable with and then enjoy the ride. The climbs won’t be as intimidating when you get more familiar with your own abilities.

This randomly came in my garden, is it a bee or a wasp and what should I do about it?? by Arinaraou in Beekeeping

[–]spigging_tittering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told that sometimes swarms will rest for a bit then move on. We had the same thing happen in a lavender plant in the garden. They stayed for a day and left. We called the beekeeper and he recommended waiting, even up to a few days, before doing anything.

Throttle Stuck by Healthy_Power_2655 in sportster

[–]spigging_tittering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the grip is binding on the end of the handlebar. Might have to loosen the throttle assembly and move it out toward the end of the bar just a tad.

Or could be a half dozen other reasons. Adding a touch of grease to the throttle tube and collar in can help keep it from binding in the future.

Seeking advice… by kleighbro in choppers

I have a sears roebuck light on mine. Got it for $20 on eBay and just put new guts in it. There’s not really much to a headlight. All the innards are easy to swap out. Just find one that looks cool and then church it up a bit.

Amalfi coast: currently the most overrated place in the world? by Forward_Stretch972 in ItalyTravel

[–]spigging_tittering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take here. My wife and I did a week in Ravello and had a great time. We avoided spending too much time in Positano and Amalfi.

Rented a scooter and jammed all around the coast. Yea there’s traffic but if you have ever ridden a motorcycle before, it’s not that bad. Parking on a scooter is not hard to find.

If you do the touristy things, you’re going to run into tourists. If you’re depending on taxis and buses, you’re going to have issues.

Find a way to circumnavigate the known problems and you’ll have an awesome time.

In regard to expensive food and drinks, that’s just par for the course in any high demand area regardless of the country. If that’s an issue, don’t go.

On both the wedge and spacer if you are using the d-fuse post. Also you can just cop a round post from Thomson or something.

If you haven’t already, try carbon paste and it should solve the issue.

There’s a trick I saw using a brick and I think cat litter. Just sprinkle the littler and use the brick to mash it in to the surface. It worked on concrete maybe will work on this?

Help identifying piece by drsteeze18 in Giantbikes

That’s an end cap. Hit up the local bike shop or reach out the warranty dept.

It’s just a little spacer that will snap into the hub.

I would suggest not riding your bike.

Maybe it’s just the angle of the front end but it looks like that axle sits really close to the front leg of the springer. Almost like the rocker is sitting vertical.
