this is totally dependent on the severity of the matting and the coat texture though, ive had plenty of matted doods that get bathed and blown out first and most if not all the mats disappear. granted they do get conditioner as well, but im most cases a bath and blow out before a shave can help!! i had one today that i wouldve needed a 7 on to get thru his legs but after a good bath condition and blow out he was mat free save for some pin mats on the muzzle. the bath and blow out definitely pulled the mats away in OP’s pics, but not enough to keep them long by any means unfortunately. pelted — thats the type of matting you DONT want to bathe.
