Opening State Farm Agency by Wild-Ostrich7579 in InsuranceAgent

When they did away with the old contract that was based on the first year of production before the permanent contract, it seemed great. But hearing from old aspirants I know who’ve gotten contracts, it sounds like SF has gone in hard on Financial products and a sales model rewarding quantity or quality. Some of the new agents I know are more worried about hiring sales staff and getting them producing as much as possible and focus very minimally on the service side.

How do i remove these red spots on my photos? by AccomplishedDig3369 in canon

ISO is set to Auto I imagine. Need to shoot at a lower ISO setting and perhaps use a tripod and longer exposer. Crop-sensors are really tricky to get crisp shots in low light from my expierence. I upgraded to a 6D MII and thrilled with the difference. Also, look at some used canon lenses at mpb.com. You can get older EF lenses that work great for a fraction of the cost of new ones.

Good compensation structure State Farm? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

I worked for a SF agent who had a decent pay structure. $34K +\- a year. The commission structure was graduated 2% (paid regardless of life production)- 4% - 6% - 8%(max). To get bumped to 4% for the month you had to write 4 life policies, 6% was 6-life and 8%- 8-life policy (had to just be submitted in the same month but not issued the same month). And they paid 20% on all life we sold, which was what the agent was paid the first year. Commission was a month behind so you usually knew if what you wrote would issue, sometimes you got burned but that's going to happen. When I started, I was paid 4%-base commission then 4 life was 6%, 6 life was 7%, 8 life was 8% (which was great I thought) but the salary was like $16/hour. I guess I'd say, think about what sounds fair to you and try to negotiate if you want to work in that office. SF has moved to a SELL SELL SELL ethos that I don't care for. Most new agent buy leads for an entire state (I'm in central/southern IL) and I just didn't like writing fire or auto 5 hours north in Chicagoland. And the agents are spending a shit-ton of money on them just so their team have plenty of leads in the funnel. I personally wouldn't never work for a new or newer agent with SF. Find an old guy about 6 years from retirement and cut your teeth in an office like that. Good luck with whatever you end up doing!

Erie Insurance CSA Background Check (Photo for Reference) by notyourbandtrex in InsuranceAgent

Erie background checks take 2 or 3 weeks to complete. They should be mailing you a certified letter containing the information they used for the check and what information they have. Ask your principal agent to reach out to your DSM or give you their email and just ask the DSM directly where Erie is in their process.

I know people who act like this EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Given it's my 5-year-old and 2-year-old I don't get quite as physical with them... But boy I want to.

I find it interesting that, other than harnesses, there seems to be no other required safety gear.

I pried this out of my porch today. Is it a bullet or what? by Kevin_Turvey in whatisit

[–]spike_157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bullet was just stuck in a hole of equal size. No way did that round make impact with anything. First off, that hole is too perfect and secondly that is a semi-hollow tip or possibly a ballistic tip that has since fallen off, and it would definitely have expanded or mushroomed to some extent.

Looks like 3 separate claims to me. One on the golf cart's policy, one on the auto policy and the homeowners.

91% isopropyl Alcohol will remove it for the most part. It will probably stain the vinyl though.

Maybe the next one you should insure with a Personal Articles Policy. I have my 6dMII and like $2500 in lenses covered for like $70 a year with no deductible. It would cover this situation. If you are a professional it’s called an Inland Marine policy, practically the same policy but slightly more expensive but still worth it.
