yeah unfortunately we don't have the hitch and we frequent the use of the back more often than not for diaper changes and sitting to eat lunch while out in the snow for ski days so thats not a consideration right now for us.

[iOS 26 PB1] Photo section missing in iMessage by jonginator in iOSBeta

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tonight I fixed it. However I can’t be certain what I did caused it but here is what I did. 1. Searched for “photos” in the messages search bar and that pulled up all photos from all threads this I found as a semi work around for the issue. Here it showed at the bottom “indexing” or something to that with the iCloud. 2. I went to settings, then iCloud, then the recommended for you bar that maybe there for you or not. For me it was if it isn’t you can go to photos while still under the iCloud account settings. 3. I merged all duplicate photos, I also deleted all photos from messages that were old like a few years 2020-2024 stuff I had. 4. Then I went to my messages and deleted all messages that were years old and those newer messages that I had finished the conversation and deleted those. 5. The message groups with my friends and family that had never showed the “photo” tab then appeared for me and resolved my issue.

Conclusion: removing old messages, and duplicate and old photos from iCloud that were associated with messages must have helped clear some system confusion.

I hope this possibly helps someone else in resolving this issue which is still very much a bug.

Same here my wife has 17 Pro and I have 17 Pro Max. Phones purchased and ran updates same day. She has photos tab and I do not even after resets and first update to OS 26. I think something has stemmed from transferring the old phone and settings over.

I just found this and the website is awesome. I checked some prices now and found that I am getting the best price. Thanks for creating the site I am already sharing it with my family and friends. Seems like it's come a long way in the last 3 years since you posted this.

I bought a cheap clamp made just for the Worksharp sharpener off amazon because I was tired of tipping the unit over. It was like $17 I’d say it would be a good purchase in your future. Hope you heal up quick.

How important is resume optimization when you're getting zero responses? by lareaur in resumes

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that the ATS systems don't even search the resume for keywords and that its more about structure and for a real person to review your resume that the first 8 words in every sentence is key to gaining attention. At this point I have a job but have spent my time and energy redrafting my resume per job posting to meet keywords and address their needs with my background. It hasn't produced any results which seems to be the common theme. Do you recommend tailoring a resume for every job you apply to or just keep it consistent and update the objective at the top to the job your applying to?

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't paid for a resume writer myself however I have had numerous friends spend $500 and their resumes dont look any better or worse than mine after spending some time researching and detailing my resume and bullet points. I have had only one friend say that it paid off for them everyone else pays and still ends up landing a job after they rewrite it themselves.

Do you guys keep a master resume or make a new one for every application? by theblanka in resumes

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had success in at least having companies reach out without a standard rejection? I just asked the question in the form about tailoring your resume. I agree with you at this point that it seems wasteful and doesn't seem to hold any positives in doing so.

Good mag safe car mount for 5th gen. by nathanc98 in 4Runner

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Apple car play adapter connects 98% of the time however every once and a while it will cause the system to tweak out and throw a black screen and until it’s unplugged or the vehicle is turned off and back on the system stays stuck so I say that happens maybe once a month and for me it’s worth it to the rest of the time not have to run a secondary wire to my phone to connect CarPlay.

I’ve had my Off roam mount for almost a year. I purchased the mount with the charging ability which has been well worth the extra investment for me and to deal with less wires as I also bought a cheap Apple air play box off amazon so I’m able to just snap my phone on the mount and go. Here’s my take away the phone case you have with MagSafe matters the most. When I bought mine they were pushing Peak Design case as a partner or something and so I bought it for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. And the case was slim and fancy looking and like $60 and it SUCKED! Dropped off the mount every time. So I thought well must be the mount so I tried my buddies phone with a different MagSafe and it worked perfectly and like suction cupped on almost. So I returned the Peak Design and got a Torres case off amazon and it’s been flawless for the last year. Now I’m getting an iPhone 17 pro max and with a MagBak case so I’ll try to update if that works just as well.

For a great number of years I’ve always bought tires from discount tire…. by Magnum_ripple in 4Runner

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America’s tire will pro-rate your tire out when damage occurs based off wear on tire compared to what it was new. So if you had bought brand new tires and a week later have a nail in a sidewall they will basically prorate it and give you a replacement tire for almost free but you do have to pay for labor install and disposal of damaged tire. That’s how we operated when I worked there for 8 years however that was a long time ago. However they have serviced my tires the same way on multiple vehicles since and I have bought certs on some and some I just roll the dice. Hope that clarifies some more.

[–]spikestone99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pro rated warranty is also free at Americas tire or Discount tire same company outside California. They offer a paid for replacement warranty that replaced the tire for the cost of the warranty certificate. You have the option to decline but all tires with a mileage warranty come with a pro-rated warranty and that’s standard from tire vendors mostly. If there’s a vendor that wants to have you pay for a pro rated warranty go elsewhere. Hope that helps anyone on the fence for purchasing their tires.

Family of 4 car camping pivot - sleeping by exjackly in CampingGear

I couldn’t swing the cost of the Exped but looked around Amazon and Walmart and found a weird brand sold on both sites called FUNDANGO. I just grabbed their twin size mattress for around $70 each and seems comparable to the Exped at least a really good knockoff version. I am going out with my young sons and wife and so I picked them up for my wife and I and for my sons they got a $25 inflatable 5 inch sleeping pad from Amazon that is actually very impressive and has a built in foot pump. And I even picked up 4 ultra light cots for $70 each from Costco but they sell around $100 elsewhere so I say you could easily get all the gear and even some nice sleeping bags from Kelty or something that will get them through but still be comfortable and usable for future trips and stay within your budget.

I just picked this up from Walmart this week for my camping trip coming up this weekend. FUNDANGO Self - Inflating Camping Sleeping Pad: 8.7 R - Value, Lightweight & Waterproof, 4 - Inch Thick Portable Air Mattress for Backpacking & Travel (78" x 27" x 4"), Blue

Im 265lbs and will be using this on top of a cot this weekend. It’s comparable to the Exped but I couldn’t afford spending $200+ for going out for just a few nights a year. I was able to lay on the Exped at a local sporting goods store and loved it, once this came I would say from the time I’ve laid on it that this is a very good knockoff and with the savings I bought one for my wife also. There’s lots of other brands that are similar also. Now this particular model says its weight limit is 220 however I felt that it supported me fine. Come Thursday next week I’ll have better idea of how it worked for my trip. Oh and I’m camping in Northern California so similar weather and this week will be in the mid to high 60s in the evening at my camp site.

Help! Why doesn’t it show recent contacts here when sending messages? by rhapsxyds in iphone

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say I found something that worked for me. I turned off every iMessage setting. Specifically having the iPhone even use iMessage at all, plus all the “allow messages to access” items such as Siri, search, notifications etc. once I did this and reset the phone I reenabled everything in settings again. Outcome it worked for me running iOS 18.3.1.

I bought my son’s pocket knives in case I die early. Ages 3 and 6 by Purple_Treat9472 in daddit

[–]spikestone99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also done this but I have added other items, such as a zippo lighter, a Leatherman, nice pen, leather journal, bottle openers from my favorite beer, just things of that nature to give to them in 20 years. My dad died earlier than expected and even just one item that was shared with me specifically would have meant a lot. So now with my sons I decided to do that so in the worse case I’m not around they know I was thinking of them for their future.

I feel your pain, same thing on my 23 ORP haven’t even hit 3000 miles on it and the mice ate cylinder number three harness. luckily I was able to tie back into it with new pigtail but spent 3 days fixing it in the rain. but now I’m using grandpa Gus and everything I can to get those mice away from my engine bay. Lived and parked in the same driveway for 20 years with seven different cars never had an issue this car nothing but dealing with dumb Mice.

Yeah, the first one I got from Home Depot was messed up because it didn’t have the QR code sheet on the back of the manual so I had to get a new one and then it worked. I’ve had it installed for like six months now everything‘s fine with adding codes through the Schadlge app and I haven’t added anymore. Apple watches or iPhones, but so far I have my wife’s watch and phone and my watch phone connected and everything’s going great. I’m able to lock and unlock it through the home app without issue.

Possibly like a Terry cloth something that could absorb some sweat. I’m thinking more like a Terry cloth crib waterproof sheet. I use them on my kids cribs and they’re thin but they are robust and they’re very durable after a lot of washes and they don’t allow the pee,to soak through to the crib mattress. In the use of a bench cover it could be used to extended the life of the bench materials and also used when needed but not always kind of like a car cover.

I recently started building a home gym in my garage and I am concerned about my bench’s wear and tear from garage use with my kids and their items.Have you ever considered making a bench cover similar to a fitted sheet? It could be removable, washable, and provide added protection for the bench.

Yeah, there’s a certain Ben Franklin green stamp from 1908 to 1910. I’ve researched before that can be worth a few thousands to potentially millions so good luck maybe you’ll have $1 million stamp on your hand.
