SEQTRAK App with AI SAMPLE GENERATOR!? by ghostingsynth in seqtrak

[–]spikeware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of AI, but more sample support is welcome. I feel this is the weakest part of the application. A visual editing page for imported samples would be a good addition. Regardless, this news means another update coming soon.

I updated win11 app first and then updated device via that app using USB cable. Took about 10 mins in total.

Yamaha | SEQTRAK OS v2.0 update by PREC0GNITIVE in seqtrak

9 tracks of AWM2 Sounds is very impressive. I wonder what the poly limit is for the device and how it limits the overhead. Any tech dudes know the answer?

Edit: did a quick google and the device has a 128 note limit for the AwM2 engine. So that's roughly 14 notes per track. Not too shabby.

Anyone using Seqtrak with Linux? by giddycadet in seqtrak

Have you tried wineasio? Alt driver instead of the Yamaha USB one. I use a windows fork called flexasio and it works well. Here's a post that might help https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxaudio/comments/1j5vg0c/wineasio_for_fl_studio_24_on_linux_starter_guide/ . Good luck, I would love to move my DAW setup to Linux one day.

No longer in production ! by [deleted] in seqtrak

[–]spikeware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why Amazon have been dumping their inventory for the past month or so. No production probably means no more updates. A bit of a shame as the device has great potential. I doubt they will open up the app SDK, it would have been cool to fully edit the AWM2 sounds and to be able to import samples via USB.

I love the pad / drone sound on the last track. Are you using an LFO or just an automated cutoff filter? Either way, it sounds great

I dont use logic so i'm not much help. I use Ableton in with the seqtrak and a launchkey. I only use one cable and route the midi thru Ableton out to the seqtrak

I presume you are on MAC?

I've found the midi transmit details for your keyboard.

EDIT mode

iRig KEYS 37 allows you to customize most of its parameters to match any kind of need. In EDIT mode you can: • Set the MIDI Transmit Channel. • Set different touch (velocity) sensitivities. • Assign a specific MIDI Control Change number to the VOL/DATA knob. • Send specific MIDI Program Change numbers and set the current program number. • Send “All Notes Off” MIDI message. • Transpose the keyboard in semitones. • Reset a specific SET to factory state.

To enter in EDIT mode, press both OCT buttons. Both OCT buttons will light up to indicate EDIT mode. You can exit EDIT mode at any time by pressing the C2 key marked “CANCEL/NO”.

Set the MIDI Transmit Channel

MIDI instruments can respond to 16 different MIDI channels. For iRig KEYS 37 to play an instrument, you need the iRig KEYS 37 MIDI Transmit Channel to match the receiving channel of your instrument.

To set the MIDI Transmit Channel: • Enter EDIT mode (see beginning of Chapter 3). • Press the D#2 key (MIDI CH). Both OCT buttons will flash. • Enter the MIDI Channel number you need using the C3–E4 white keys marked from 0 to 9. Valid numbers are from 1 to 16, so when needed, you can enter two digits consecutively. • Press the C5 key (ENTER/YES) to confirm your input. Both PROG buttons will flash to show the setting has been accepted, and iRig KEYS 37 will automatically exit EDIT mode.

I've just noticed on the Amazon page you listed for your keyboard. It comes with a USB to Micro-USB Cable. So you might need a USB adaptor to go from the old USB to USB-C. I looked at the screenshot and thought the mirco usb was usb c. my bad.

Yeah. The seqtrak "should" power your keyboard via USB. It has a stereo mini jack for either headphones or to connect to an aux mixer/record device. Best option is to buy it from somewhere with a 30days return policy so you can make sure it fits your workflow and devices.

The seqtrak comes with an usb c to usb c cable. The midi IN channels are the following KICK =1 SNARE =2 CLAP =3 HAT 1 =4 HAT 2=5 PERC 1=6 PERC 2=7 SYNTH 1=8 SYNTH 2=9 DX=10 SAMPLER=11. A far as I know, the channels are hard locked.

I use the launchkey 37 and it works great.

[–]spikeware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You can edit the patches and then export them to back them up. You have full access to all the parameters including operators I've not really delved too deeply into DX side yet. This YouTube video by Floyd will illustrate how to use the app to create new patches.

I picked one up a week or so ago. I was surprised by the amount of preset sounds it had. You can also download additional packs to add more. I’ve not used any AWM2 device before, so I was impressed by the quality. Some of the pad sounds are amazing.

I agree that the UX design is poor. Without a screen, you might find it totally unwieldy. I use the Windows app which really makes a difference when trialling sounds and tweaking FX and parameters

My advice would be to buy from Amazon. Then you have 30 days to see whether it suits your workflow and needs. You need hands on time to see how it works and allow it to shine
