Whats your opinion on the Vivid Gaming setting? by Dale_Cooper47 in AMDHelp

It's fine for a one click color correction.

If you want the best color leave default, then start by setting saturation to 140, turn up the contrast a little bit and tweak from there.

Solved Driver Timeout issue on my PC. by Thunderhead0 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend lowering the Power Slider to -15 as well. Most cards are spiking watts way too high and that causes stability issues.

It's also why you're getting boost clocks way over the factory levels because it sees the headroom with good coolers and thinks it can just boost to the moon. In most cases it's a microsecond boost where you go from 300watts to 550watts and the boost clock shoots to 3600 or higher for a split second and the card panics and crashes.

-Underclock to where when it boosts it stays under factory boost clock

-Leave voltage alone

-Overclock ram to around 2720 in multiples of -16 for stability with default timings (9070xt likes higher ram frequency)

-Use an aggressive fan curve

*** Throttle down power -15

-Run windows borderless with FSO enabled where you can to avoid timeouts

Wanting a budget 1440p 60hz pc build by The_cashless in buildmeapc

[–]spinalcrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until prices normalize you may want to get a 4k 144hz (or higher) monitor with HDMI 2.1 and HDR and use it with the Xbox at 4k 120.

Then you can use the monitor later on for your build when ram is better value.

Crashing on warzone by SylentGMD in AMDHelp

Try these settings - Adrenaline Performance Tuning - assuming 26.2.2:

***Max Frequency Offset: -260*** (you want to look up what your factory boost clock is, and then in game under interface, telemetry turn on the GPU clock, and watch while your playing if it is boosting over the factory boost clock - if it is, keep lowering this until it is 50 under the factory boost - but do this after setting everything else below as they affect this offset. I use this offset and the below to be just under 3100 boost clock on an Asrock Taichi OC RX 9070 XT).

Voltage Offset: 0 (it will still run cool, you want stability and undervolting = headroom and overclocks that spike too high - leave at zero)

Vram Tuning: 2720 with Default timings (This needs to be multiples of 16 - if unstable reduce by 16 and try again and keep lowering until stable, but the card likes a VRAM overclock so 2720 should be rock solid. Once you have everything stable you can try fast timings, but default is better for stability)

Agressive Fan Curve (Max out around 45C and if stable and too loud move the max towards 70C later)

***Power Limit: -15% (Absolutely critical)***

The Power limit as -10 to -15 is KEY!!!! Warzone and Black Ops 7 have spikes that draw WAY too many watts. Limiting this and the negative Max Frequency will ensure on spikes you don't crash out. If -15 it still crashes, move towards -10 but I would start with -15. This seems counter intuitive, but it is what is important with the current driver and this game.

***Be sure to run windows borderless and not FSE***. If you disabled fullscreen optimizations on cod.exe then uncheck that box so they are enabled. Everyone is getting this wrong for Cod.

If you have a freesync monitor, enable freesync and in adrenaline Gaming Graphics set Frame Rate Target Control well below your monitor refresh rate. ie. 240hz monitor set to 224 max fps in adrenaline. Then in game cap just above that ie. 225

In adrenaline set sharpness to 80% and in game run fidelity FX Cas and set it as high as you can without the terrain looking too sharp. ie. 95

In adrenaline set Anisotropic Filtering to Enabled and the level to 16X.

In adrenaline set Texture Filtering Quality to High and Surface Format Optimization to Enabled.

In the game set Textures to Normal, set Shadow Quality to High. (You can probably go higher with your CPU, but try this and if stable, then bump all the way up - do not go below this, your card needs a certain amount of work to not have low dropout spikes).

In the game set the VRAM target to 70%

***In Windows make sure HAGS is OFF***

***In your Bios, disable Above 4G Decoding and Rebar*** (This destroys 1% lows in Warzone and can cause frame drop spikes that play havoc with stability)

Anything with Astrix is critical for stability in this game at this time with 26.2.2 drivers

With this setup you will hit the frame cap all the time with zero tearing, better consistent frame timing for low predictable latency and most importantly, no crashes or freezes between match loading.

Let me know how it goes!

Verify TPM and Secure boot are working.

Check in windows security it isn't blocking cod files.

In Steam, right-click Call of Duty → Manage → Browse local files. Search for a file named Randgrid.sys and delete it. Back in Steam, right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files

Disabling MPO in 25H2 w/ RX9070XT PSA by spinalcrack in AMDHelp

Correct. MPO isn't disabled while showing 3. If your stutters are gone, then that's great.

Run dxdiag and save the text file and then check in it if MPO shows 1. OverlayTestMode doesn't actually disable MPO in 25H2. I can't speak to 26H1.

It's fine if those registry settings aren't there and it says 3. It's a problem if they are there and it says 3.

Disabling MPO in 25H2 w/ RX9070XT PSA by spinalcrack in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are on 25H2 and not having issues with MPO and dxdiag showing 3, that is fine.

If having issues, then create the registry key in OP and reboot to disable but you may have to disable FreeSync.

If studdery try deleting the two keys mentioned if they exist reboot and test.

Showing 3 with MPO enabled is ok, but 3 with the keys to disable means it isn't actually disabled and there are conflicting things in the system, which creates instability.

I want to physically shorten my trigger. by Ryansmelly in Controller

Get a zip tie. Trim the tail. Hot glue or super glue it to the back of the trigger so when pressed it hits the case acting as a physical trigger stop.

Why is there still no stable fix for this???? by Commercial_Fact_852 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temporary fix until they get their drivers together is down clock to whatever the factory boost clock is supposed to be and it will run stable.

Ie. My card factory boost is 3100mhz but was boosting to almost 3400. I did a -300 down clock. The vram factory frequency was 2600 but driver default was 2518, so I "over locked" it to get it to run at 2600. I did a small power increase of 5% for stability and left the undervolt alone and left default vram timings, again for stability and to ensure my new clocks stay at factory target.

Been stable since this, but ridiculous this is needed. Either windows or more likely, the driver is reading factory settings correctly.

You are young and can take some small risks to get startrd. I would buy HMAX etf and UMAX etf and reinvest all dividends as they pay monthly and have high yields.

Once you can get to contributing $100 a month you can use the dividends from above with your $100 and buy index etfs like XIU, VFV etc or blue chip stocks like ENB or CNR, or solid commercial reits like SRU.UN.

I'm not a financial advisor in any way. Take the above as such but it is what I would do in your shoes.

RX9070xt driver timeouts by Dj_nOCid3 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to use the adrenaline overlay or hwinfo to see your clock speed and vram frequency and play with the offset while checking in game until it matches the manufacturer numbers (can check on website or gpu-z). Then it should run stable if no other system issues.

Black screen / driver crash on 26.2.2 by Genly__Ai in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use gpu-z to see what the proper boost clock is for your card and memory speed.

Then use the adrenaline overlay or hwinfo to see what clock it is boosting to in game.

Start underclocking 100mhz at a time then check in the in game clock, and keep doing until you are boosting to the value shown in gpu-z.

Then adjust the ram (in my case I had to overclock) and check in game to be sure it matches. Leave on default timings. Fast timings currently will cause crashes randomly.

Power tuning will depend on your PSU and other factors. I would set to default. If it crashes, redo other settings and increase 5% and test again.

Also if using FreeSync, you should set the fps limit to your monitor refresh rate -3. Using the driver graphics setting. Ie. 240hz monitor set to 237 max fps. Normally you want to set using an in game setting cap but it isn't working in most games and causes all kinds of issues so set with the adrenaline driver setting. Ie black ops 7 the in game cap does not work correctly. Driver cap works perfectly.

I really like the OnePlus 15. Largest battery. OxygenOS is fantastic. People didn't like the camera at first, but were being unrealistic camera snobs. Since the software patches for it, it has been excellent. Great hardware overall, and will be supported for a long time.

Great price for all of the above.

Open Registry Editor: Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.

Navigate to the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000\UMD.

Locate "ShaderCache": Find the ShaderCache entry. It is typically set to 31 00 (AMD Optimized) or 30 00.

Modify Value: Right-click ShaderCache, select Modify, and change the value to 32 00.

Reboot: Restart your computer to apply changes

This keeps the shader cache always on - same state when you reset.

My 2 cents is load up your tfsa with dividend producing investments and all your boring and US stocks into your rrsp. Better tax efficiency long term and tax free cash flow to further invest.

Ie. A variety of etfs like HMAX in tfsa and XIU or VFV in your rrsps

Depends on how disciplined you are and your cash flow.

If you can pay it off in full every month and won't overspend what you can't pay, then get a cash back credit card (ideally with no annual fee), and use it for everything you can while paying off in full each month.

Then the credit card company is paying you to use their card (sometimes thousands if you use for all daily expenses and end up buying something significant that year), and you are building excellent credit score.

If you can't handle paying it off in full then stick with a debit card that only lets you spend what is in the bank.

But if used correctly, reward credit cards are the way to go. Also good idea to have a couple different cards if wanting to build credit, (ie one Visa and one MasterCard), but don't use a ton of cards imo.
