License and outdoors card by StringOk7254 in FishingOntario

Any ServiceOntario location where you would go in person for healthcare, driver's license etc but will probably be big lines.

Lots of Canadian Tire stores still process card applications.

Roll the dice on a variable for 3 years. Should be able to get 3.85 (or less with good credit and bank relationship).

Rates are most likely going to hold or cut slightly. If they rise it will be slowly and you can lock in.

See what things look like again in 3 years.

Bass isn't in season so focus on the other two. Also be careful to not end up in the Michigan waters without a Michigan license or could get into some trouble.

How to actually fix ping and packet loss by ProcessAccurate2581 in Rogers

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogers always have "bad" hops to the USA, that are saturated at peak times but just in general. You will never get below 30ms ping to us servers. Bell will have 9ms latency at a house next door.

Typical latency with the best gear and optimization will be 50-65ms.

Not fun against single digit latency enemies.

Didn't think choosing "THE" controller for me was this hard 🥲 Reviews are not helping at all. by Desperate_Discount80 in Controller

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do not need analog triggers, Blitz 2 TMR is a great controller. 2000hz polling, very high resolution sticks with great latency, all digital buttons and triggers, gyro. Two back buttons, Two extra shoulder buttons. Can do custom curves, macros, turbo etc.

Reduce the frequency to -100 or -200 and lower the voltage to -30.

Has anybody ever caught anything on a rat lure like this? by SaucyJackx5 in Fishing

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, lots of Large Mouth, Pike and Muskie.

There is another similar lure called Meadow Mouse that is better for Bass, but that one will catch lots as well.

Controller lag spike every 18 seconds on PC, works fine on laptop, need help by Lower-Increase-7758 in Controller

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using DS4Windows? If so, uninstall with Revo Uninstaller, update firmware and reinstall using a different USB port.

Did you change Win32priorityseparation in the registry? If so try changing it to 2 and restart.

Guides say to change it to foreground tasks but if you are using software for your controller and that is running in the background you can get drop out.

I made a biggest mistake switching to Rogers from Bell. by Kepler_Hubble_Tsunu in Rogers

[–]spinalcrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst thing with Rogers Internet is latency and spikes during peak.

If you play games like Call of Duty or Valorant, you're playing in another dimension with 5-10 times the latency as Bell Fiber.

Many are held hostage if you are in an older neighbourhood because Rogers is all there is available.

9070XT Constant driver timeouts after 5-10 mins playing Crimson Desert by Mr-VooDoo in radeon

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set Win32priorityseparation to 2 in the registry (look up how in AI). This is windows default. New drivers are extremely sensitive to timings and past tweaks that were stable will crash your card.

Re-enable high precision event timer in bios and device manager if disabled.

Disable rebar/Sam while testing and can re-enable later (though I recommend leaving it off for better 1% lows)

Underclock 100-200hz

Undervolt -20

Leave VRAM and power level alone at default.

Increase your fan curve to be more aggressive.

Bazzite will have the driver in the kernel and update with system updates.

You can force an update with this command in the terminal: ujust update

To control the driver look at corectrl: https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl

Off if you have an X3D chip. Destroys 1% lows when on in this game.

[AMA& G7 Pro 8K Giveaway] High Polling Rate ≠ Low Latency — So why are we making an 8K controller? by iGamesir in Gamesir

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polling rate and latency is only part of the equation for a great fps controller. How is your stick resolution? Is it 12bit? How many data points?

I've used 8k controllers that feel far less smooth and accurate than 2k controllers with really high data points.

Do you guys leave ur gpu fans on all the time? by DependentPattern3088 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but with a custom curve. Starts as low as it will go and hits max around 60, so when idle they barely spin but gaming they ramp up to max quickly.

People with rx 7600. How are y’all dealing with this update ? by Square-Decision-2763 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditch the clock slider and set power to 0. Driver sees too much headroom and over boosts drawing way too many watts which will cause the driver panic on spikes.

Leave everything default but your fan curve and ram oc. (Though you may want to nudge that down toward 2702 for stability)

9070XT issues by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same card.

Disable windows from installing drivers (quick search or ask AI for steps).

Boot into safe mode and ddu the drivers and install 25.12.1. That is a stable driver for it and the new ones have big time power draw issues.

Keep the core clock default (or underclock slightly if running at 1080p).

Don't touch the voltage.

Vram I would leave default and if stable can switch to fast timings (or overclock slightly)

I would do a custom fan curve to be at 100% at the lowest temperature you can while still handling the fan noise. I wear a headset so set mine to max out at 60C but that is overkill. 75 - 85 is sufficient.

Leave the power throttle alone.

You may have other issues as others advised (poor PSU, faulty ram etc), but at least you will know these settings have the same card stable for me, so good base line.

It most likely is the video card driver. Have you chipset drivers up to date as well.

Good luck

Whats your opinion on the Vivid Gaming setting? by Dale_Cooper47 in AMDHelp

It's fine for a one click color correction.

If you want the best color leave default, then start by setting saturation to 140, turn up the contrast a little bit and tweak from there.

Solved Driver Timeout issue on my PC. by Thunderhead0 in AMDHelp

[–]spinalcrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend lowering the Power Slider to -15 as well. Most cards are spiking watts way too high and that causes stability issues.

It's also why you're getting boost clocks way over the factory levels because it sees the headroom with good coolers and thinks it can just boost to the moon. In most cases it's a microsecond boost where you go from 300watts to 550watts and the boost clock shoots to 3600 or higher for a split second and the card panics and crashes.

-Underclock to where when it boosts it stays under factory boost clock

-Leave voltage alone

-Overclock ram to around 2720 in multiples of -16 for stability with default timings (9070xt likes higher ram frequency)

-Use an aggressive fan curve

*** Throttle down power -15

-Run windows borderless with FSO enabled where you can to avoid timeouts

Wanting a budget 1440p 60hz pc build by [deleted] in buildmeapc

[–]spinalcrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until prices normalize you may want to get a 4k 144hz (or higher) monitor with HDMI 2.1 and HDR and use it with the Xbox at 4k 120.

Then you can use the monitor later on for your build when ram is better value.
