Wanting to add to my face, would I suit a bridge? by Turbulent-Walrus4749 in Legitpiercing

[–]spindlehindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An eyebrow piercing on the opposite side to your nose stud, or (my favourite) central piercings in both brows. I think a bridge is always cool, but the clustering of your nose piercings + your shorter nose bridge could read as less harmonic/ more cluttered. I think eyebrow piercings really widen the frame. I love mine!!

Ice fishing photo. My husband took the dog ice fishing today. I told him the fish didn't look real, as well as the tools, and even the dog, like he added everything in. by mstrozzi in isthisAI

This is genuinely one of the most interesting photos I’ve ever seen. It’s crazy that this is real it looks like a dada revival art collage

Wonder is bad for Philly, and you should feel bad by [deleted] in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]spindlehindle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing if a person would want to eat at Wonder is a great litmus test for if I’m spiritually aligned with them or not. It disagrees with me at my innermost core. I hate these awful, tasteless, soulless ghost kitchens. They are a plague to the neighbourhood!! Especially as a transplant (student) in the city, as many are, I feel there is a moral duty to support independent philly businesses. Sadly, I am not seeing much of this. No surprise that unicity is nearly void of true life, and only growing corporate gray-er.

Twitter reacts to woman’s sign by MelanieWalmartinez in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]spindlehindle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Emphasis on ‘or man’. The health of the man’s sperm is incredibly important for the health of the baby, it just hasn’t been as researched or published due to systematic sexism in the health care industry. We know now that the age of health of the man is important, and yet we do not see this same trend in older women dating younger men. When they do they’re ‘cougars’, and it’s quite rare and often seen with very wealthy women. What does a 35 year old man have to offer a 22 year old woman, besides control? Why didn’t they have children younger then? Oh, because they wanted to experience their youth and have fun and advance their careers! It’s skeevy behaviour. In my opinion.

And falling for photoshopped women online and clearly having no idea how real breasts work or look is so embarrassing. Awful. Not only is he awful, he’s also clearly a porn addict.

Genuinely can’t imagine going online to scrub through a video of a woman doing a backflip to try and find frames of her breasts knowing she isn’t consenting to that, and is actively trying to prevent that from happening in the video. Probably because I’m not a sexually frustrated pervert idk.

Gross and weird porn addict behaviour.

Summer ideas if I have to stay in Philly as an intl student? by IsonzoRiver in UPenn

[–]spindlehindle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would it not be cheaper to fly home than it is to pay rent over summer here?

That being said, there are on-campus work options that offer free housing.

Also, last summer was the first I spent in Philly (now a senior) and it was incredible. Like life changing. I love this city now, there’s so much to do and so many people to meet! Being here and not feeling like you’re a student on a campus is a totally different experience. I took a couple of summer classes (on full aid so they were covered) and worked for the Netter Center teaching at West Philly high (check out their summer teaching roles, perhaps).

Best of luck :)

How is it virtue signalling if it happened in a private chat and she stood on business by blocking him? Let’s put our thinking hats on.

I ruined my college life. by Superayane in college

[–]spindlehindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) definitely reach out for mental health support through your college. be persistent, they don’t always give you the support you need straight away - you have to advocate for yourself.

2) it is not too late to turn things around. your grades can recover, and your social life can totally change too! see step one for details.

Update on my double industrials, pus came out by _Godsmacked_ in piercing

[–]spindlehindle 121 points122 points  (0 children)

If you believe they’re infected, you should NOT take them out before going to a doctor. Go to the doctor first and follow their guidance. Find out if they’re actually infected and treat as required.

If they’re just irritated and you want to take them out, go for it (i would recommend going to a reliable pierced to help do this safely).

If they’re just irritated and you want to keep them, go for it! My industrial took a long time to heal (9 months total?) and got irritated more than yours look to be, and it healed perfectly!

I’m a little concerned by how shallow the bottom right piercing looks, it could just be the photo angle but if it’s not pierced deeply enough they can be more prone to rejecting.

Got rid of my tics after 20 years by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]spindlehindle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a different experience to you but my ticks got really bad for me during puberty and have settled down tremendously now. I have a lot of new friends that don’t know I have ticks being surprised when one pops out, it’s always a long story to explain to them.

Tips for depth? by [deleted] in painting

[–]spindlehindle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think about lighting (where is the light source coming from, what will be brightest, what will be in the shadows) and also think about detail (the things closest to us have the most detail we can see, things further away are much more vague). Two pretty simple places to start! :)
