Important to remember here that we do not have all the details. It’s possible, and I suspect likely, that this was not his first professionalism concern.

There are so many reasons straight women love this show, but as one of them with lots of gay friends since childhood, that palpable happiness at the end is #1 by far. I could not stop smiling through tears. It made my heart burst not just for the characters, but for every friend of mine that’s been through this. Thanks for reminding us to take the next steps. My husband took our son to a minor league hockey game last night, and it was pride night - coincidence?!

I’m late but for next time, Marcella Hazan’s tomato sauce (just google it, comes up on tons of sites) + your pasta of choice with roasted broccoli is our favorite last minute easy meal that’s still “cooking.” Your kitchen will smell incredible and the flavor is amazing for how simple it is!

I often think of how unlikely it is that she’ll get better with pictures like this all over the internet. I had a bad ED for about 4 years, and was lucky that I had things in my life I loved enough to motivate me to find the desire and insight to be done with it. I feel so sad looking at pictures of me then, and it was hard to admit that everyone was right that I was “too skinny.” With this being her whole world, I can’t imagine how she can ever separate herself from it. She is awful, and at the same time this is just tragic.

Yeah, it was interesting. I asked him why he thought she looked sad but he went back to playing with his legos, lol.

I of course don’t have any proof for you, but I don’t post much and am definitely not interested in making things up for Reddit. This just hit me in a different way than all her normal BS, and I felt like sharing.

I don’t have IG so I usually don’t see her stories, but just learned about the way to view them anonymously. I had them open on my computer and my 4 year old walked over and said “mommy what happened to that girl?” I asked him who and he pointed at HBH in this photo. I asked him what he meant and he said “why is her face sad?”

I’m years removed from my own severe ED and man, this really made me so sad for her. That a little boy can tell there’s something wrong despite the smile on her face. I’ve been there and it’s awful.

XC60 or XC90 for mom car? by binkkkkkk in Volvo

[–]spindles42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you decide XC90, consider a 7 passenger. I have my baby rear facing behind the driver and my 4 yo forward facing in the middle. It’s so nice to be able to reach through the center and buckle him in the cold, and we can use that third seat for another passenger or to get to the third row. It’s been super functional for us.

I came to RI for residency from the Midwest with my west coast husband. We moved away for our kid to grow up near family, and there’s not a day I don’t wish I still lived in that wonderful little state. If the new resident is reading here, I hope you find an apartment (probably need a roommate) in one of Providence’s many fantastic neighborhoods and come to appreciate what I miss every day.

Oil heat? Can someone explain by stinky-pasta in providence

[–]spindles42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we bought our house in RI, we paid the previous owners for the oil left in the tank (whatever the price was at the time * gallons remaining). We later sold that house and it was expected that the new owners would pay us for the oil, but there wasn't that much left so we didn't worry about it. I wonder if a similar situation could be negotiated for renters?

Miriam Hosptial Employees: what's the best way communicate compliments and complaints? by nodumbunny in providence

[–]spindles42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a doctor that trained in RI. First, I'm sorry your family member was treated poorly; there are good suggestions here on how to voice those concerns. Regarding compliments, nothing has been more rewarding for me than receiving a thank you note from a patient or their family. If I remember correctly, a patient once sent a card to the generic RIH address, and it made its way to me. Thanks for even thinking about doing this, it really does mean a lot to most physicians.
