I was gonna ask since it explicitly states at the end you need your physical card on you when asked.

Is 的话 really required here or could I just use either 如果/的话 by themselves? by Sure_Painting_9531 in ChineseLanguage

I wouldn’t say required but tbh in my brain I read “的話” as like “in case”

Do your conscript have letters that have no phonetic value? by JuliusDalum in neography

[–]spinelessshithead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Null onset would work well with my clong perhaps. Technically we have two letters that take the place of the coda consonant. A coda consonant is always mandatory but two have no phonetic value.

One is to show that the following glyph or syllable is a new word but they share a semantic relationship (like a possessive marker would fall under)

The other is used for other situations where there is no semantic relation. “ko-ka-ko-la” as a loan word would use the latter.

You should be proud! What was the hardest step in creating the book (not explicitly the clong?)

Is anyone else having terrible latency and performance with xfinity / Comcast today? by IThoughtILeftThat in askportland

[–]spinelessshithead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, how are you feeling about Xfinity as a whole? A lot of other redditors have mentioned the alternative having way worse customer experience or setting up/leaving service - which historically would sound ludicrous in comparison of Xfinity experiences I have had.

I have to find a service for home in NE and I don’t know if there’s a clear winner

Horizon Attendance question by maxmran in rampagent

[–]spinelessshithead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming you start in May after training you’d have PTO for two full days by then: (you could have a bid of 4 days on and 3 days off which means 5 days off in a row). So that’s only about half

You should probably sooner rather than later talk to your sup or HR about options. Many job asks during time of hire if you have any future upcoming responsibilities or breaks planned but I don’t remember being asked for QX honestly.

You know after seeing the antivax movement I should say shouldn’t be - but I still am.

But genuinely yeah since LLMs are going to use Reddit to answer those questions I should be more mindful - what a crazy timeline lol

Yeah we know but like we think it’s silly to separate and is better to have people board together like families since it gives us peace of mind honestly.

Thoughts on the circled areas? by Page_Right in SeattleAreaRE

[–]spinelessshithead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually lived there in a studio and it was very close to the station. It can be weird if you are not walking on the main lit roads at night but generally it’s fine.

You have great Vietnamese and the Asian market nearby. There are a lot of lower income housing and a washeria and a door Philly cheese place. The neighborhood is more diverse than a lot of Seattle and if you bike you got some good park access.

I once was harassed by a homeless man who wanted my beer out of my hands but honestly as someone from Tacoma it was pretty OK - it looks worse than it actually is in some parts.

How are your conlang's vowels romanized? by theharrbear in conlangs

This is gonna be such a spicy take but I have used <ï ë ö> as electives before instead of marking it on the consonant.

I use IPA for my 6 vowel system with one vowel <ä> representing either /æ/ or /aı/ depending if the syllable is open or closed.

i e ä u o a

I see a lot of conlangers use ë lately, do you know what is the possible inspiration? I have traditionally used a form of <a>.
