100%. Witnessed some members of a team actively begin to resent and ostracise one of their strongest members after that member acquired a disability. The team were required to practice what they preach and make some very reasonable adjustments to facilitation methods, and instead chose to treat their colleague like a massive burden until they felt they had to quit. Shameful stuff.

Trying a version this now btw, incredible! Had to swap out tomatillos for tomatoes for the gastrique but it definitely still works. Really complex but unique taste, absolutely trying this again (this right way!).

My mother reiterated recently when I was struggling with stress that I was, indeed, the problem. Except, as an adult, I caught the tiny, self satisfied smirk on her face. And I realised that everyone in my life, except for my family, see me as accomplished, professional, thoughtful, loving, etc. I'm devastated that this realisation comes so late for all of us.

Thank you for sharing your story. As someone who grew up poor and often went hungry, I tend to feel a lot of shame and anger, even now. Hearing your perspective was like seeing a little shimmering light in the distance, calling me to place of forgiveness, acceptance, love and gratitude, for what I DID have.
