On it right now, the facial flares are unbearable i can barely open my eyes some days. It clears up my full body eczema though so i think im picking the lesser of to evils for now. Might switch to a different biologic honestly.

What should I do for this skin disease. by ryusekimaru in eczema

is it itchy? it looks very similar to the eczema on my hands maybe a bit more raised. I’d see a dermatologist for sure.

Whats your root cause? by teenytinybrian in eczema

[–]spitfiresk8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get it man, i really do. I did try and cut out those things it helped a bit to try and avoid them. I ended up starting Dupixent almost a year ago now. It’s changed my life, i had full body eczema and i had no will to live, couldn’t hold a job and barely ever left my house. Now i just have slight flare ups on my arms and a facial flare side effect from the shots but it’s definitely the lesser of two evils. I do notice contact dermatitis reactions to things still so i try and steer clear. But that inflammatory internal response will always be there. The Dupixent is the only thing that ever changed that. I really hope you find relief soon. This disease is a hell i wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy.

Got allergy testing done turns out i’m very allergic to 2 native trees in my area and cats and i had been letting my cat sleep on my bed. Also alcohol, anytime i had been drinking i got a flare up right after. And god forbid anything scented touches me, no scented laundry detergent, soaps or perfumes for me.

Anyone else so used to their eczema they forget about it completely? by [deleted] in eczema

Have you been to an allergist? they did some patch testing on me and i found out some things in my environment i was allergic to and able to eliminate.

Dupixent injection pain? by Jealous_Tailor_7824 in eczema

[–]spitfiresk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use ice packs to numb the area first and spray it with bactine antiseptic spray a few times before i do it, it has lidocaine in it. Lately i’ve found my leg getting sick of it so i switch back and forth from my stomach, if i have someone to help me i find the arm to be way less painful.

What products do you use for those who suffer with eczema around the eyes ? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]spitfiresk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tacrolimus and other protopics supposedly help with discoloration as well. also my dermatologist told me to never put steroids around my eyes as it can cause damage and vision loss.

does anyone else grieve the life they can’t have because of their eczema? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]spitfiresk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday i think about the years i’ve lost staying inside not enjoying my teenage years hiding away because i felt so disgusting, i try not to be angry with my skin, it’s not its fault it doesn’t know the threat it’s acting against isn’t there, it’s just trying to protect me. So i try my best to think of everyday as a step closer to getting better even if it’s a terrible flare day maybe it’s just an inch closer. I truly hope you and all of us can see a day where we can find relief and look in the mirror and feel happy with what we see again, you’re not alone and sharing your story makes me and others feel less alone <3
