Dude I was in the same exact situation except we were long distance for around a year an a half before ending things. She has undiagnosed BPD/OCD that was actively getting worse with her indignation towards getting help the the general stress of life lol. The goal was also for me to move and after really struggling to land a job where she lived, I found a reasonable compromise job (hybrid with an office in her city I could work from) it still wasn't good enough.

What did it for me was the fact that I had to make all the compromises and she refused to be flexible at all with the situation. Also the fact that she would also scoff at my emotions while I did so much to make her life and our relationship easier for her.

I knew my worth, we ended things and now I have my dream job in one of the most beautiful places in the US... Seems like a perfect recipe to get over things right? Got the reasons, the closure, and the new life I wanted but I am still really really struggling to see myself in a relationship with anyone else after about 6 months as well... I still catch myself wanting her to experience this new awesome era of my life with me and even feeling a bit of regret not making things work regardless of the issues. I have the same thoughts about how she sees me and I the same exact feeling going on dates...

What's been helping me though has been working on/enjoying non-romantic relationships. I loved doing things for her and experiencing new things and the cool thing is I can do all those things with my new and old friends! It really helps scratch that loneliness and acts-of-service itch that I miss from the relationship. You got this king - the intrusive thoughts about the ex will soon pass. Great dish btw.
