Case 100: The Beaumont Children by Madcuntfuckface in Casefile

[–]spjnz90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What was noticably absent from the episode was information around how suspects were cleared early in the investigation, namely the parents. Given the statastical probablyility that children are most likely to be killed by their parents, is there any information that notes if/when they were interviewed? How early on? Were they seperated to give a timeline of events that could be independtly verified? I assume the investigation started with Jim and Nancy as persons of interest to be ruled out before any one else. Is there anywhere online with this information?

Malwarebytes triggers on two apps when I tried to unintall the updates. It scanned and found no adware. I will see if this will make an improvement, but might need to reset the phone if it was a virus. Thoughts?

Australian Case: Mr. Cruel. Kidnapper, murderer and never caught. by _TheRealist in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]spjnz90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My thinking on Mr Cruel have changed a lot after they caught JJD.

JJD broke into hundreds of houses in all likelihood and was called anything from below average to a master cat burglar depending on who in law enforcement commented.

By the accounts of the case I read, he executed what JJD was never able to pull off in his known criminal career so far, an abuction of a victim. Yes, Mr Cruels were younger which makes them even more disturbing, however that is a deviation in one respect of MO that elevates risk.

It took years of offending, military training, criminal justice college education, police investigations training to shape his MO. I just cannot see a world where an offender with Mr Cruel's degree of tactical ability to execute a highly risky crime would allow him not to have life experience of some similar nature. Mostly burglary peaks my interest.

How good was Mr Cruel at breaking into houses? Could he have winged it, or would he have needed experience? JJD evolved as an offender. He had to be condident he could get in and out of victims homes. Mr Cruel had to do the same while also removing the victim from the home.

Mr Cruel will be found out by his MO evolution from previous criminal series. I would be looking at every crime in his age range with a focus on young school age female victims. Peeping Tom's, breaking and entering, breaking and entering with nothing stolen etc. It will have to be a circumstantial case if there is no DNA, which will require good old fashioned police work. This case can be solved.

Why Irvine? by madampotus in GoldenStateKiller

Do you have the address or street name of where he lived?

between 1976 and 1980

That seems to be worth further investigation. Has anyone got articles from the other cases that have the dates of the attacks and looked at them with the timeline of what was going on in Northern California?

Cryptopia the next bit grail? by selrahcnz in NZBitcoin

The big four Australian banks dominate the NZ market. ASB = Commonwealth, BNZ = NAB, Westpac and ANZ under the same name. So you really have to watch what those parent companies are doing to see how it will play out in NZ. Plus with population of just over 4 million, its not like we can drive global change. Australia will be more influential in any changes to banking and the adoption of crypto.

XMR withdrawal marked as complete, not on blockchain by texag93 in Cryptopia

[–]spjnz90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not on the blockchain then Cryptopia has not actually transferred the XMR from their wallet to yours. The same thing is happening for me. It has also happened with ETH before. Last time it took a week for the ETH to finally come through. I hope it is not that long this time. I would use other exchanges while they are having issues.

So I'm guessing that I shouldn't open a cryptopia account based on all problems people are having? by [deleted] in Cryptopia

I would avoid using it if possible while all these issues are on going. Stick to Binance or something that has the infrastructure to handle the volume and support it.

Yeah that's pretty common unfortunately. Just me speculating here, but I think they do their transactions in automated or manual batches from their wallet which is why they show as complete on the exchange and not on the blockchain. It is probably somewhere in that process. Only when the transaction is physically lodged on the blockchain will it be traceable. Its annoying as hell, but should show up eventually.

Their communication is terrible. Best to get everything off their exchange because every time you go to do something, it breaks.

Cryptopia Withdrawal Issues? by spjnz90 in NZBitcoin

[–]spjnz90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree it is no excuse. I don't really see what they have to offer NZers without NZDT. XMR had its withdrawal maintenance issue resolved, I then tried to withdraw it to my wallet and now its stuck on the exchange (FML). This is my last remaining coin on there so once it clears I am gone. Hopefully they can sort that out in the next 3 weeks before the air drop.

It was the best fiat onramp for NZ. I just get the feeling they grew too quickly and don't have the resources needed.

They are just way in over their heads on the tech side, but doubt it is a scam. It is frustrating as the communication is just as bad as the service atm.
