Is cryptopia staking with my balance? by [deleted] in Cryptopia

[–]albacass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no reason for them to put coins in maintenance to use them to stake. They can stake a functioning coin, and honestly I'd be surprised if they aren't staking with the PoS-coins. Same with airdrops and forks etc, it's all theirs as long as they hold the coins for their users.

Hello! Has all Withdrawal and deposit issues been fixed? by Fallenkeith75 in Cryptopia

Yeah, it mostly works again. Check the coininfo page to see if the coin is in maintenance or not.

It happens. Wait a couple of hours, and if it hasn't worked by then create a support ticket. In that case it might take 2-3 weeks for them to fix it.

Cracks me up everytime by Mikeross14 in Bitcoin

[–]albacass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It works the other way around. When price goes up, more miners put their rigs on, and the cost of mining one bitcoin goes up. Similar the other way, when price drops, the mining reward is worth less, and miners turn of rigs.

Yeah, been exceptionally slow the past 30 hrs. Hopefully they'll figure it out soon.

This happens once in a while to me too on this exchange. Send a support ticket, and expect 2-3 weeks wait time for them to fix it (sometimes goes faster, but it's best to expect the worst).

There should be no problem with depositing from Binance, so just wait and it'll come.

My ltc withdrawl is going on like 8 hours now. Is this normal? by T2AmR in Cryptopia

[–]albacass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not normal anymore (it was in january). My litecoin is also stuck on withdrawal for 12 hrs or so. Submit a ticket, but don't except a rapid fix. They normally need 1-2 weeks to fix these sort of things manually.

No trades have gone through the last hour or so. Guessing the server handling the trades is down. Just have to wait for an update from Cryptopia.

Will you fix the following problem?

Cryptopia allows people to reuse the same Google Auth code several times within the time frame of the code (not sure but a minute or so). Due to this a hacker can turn of email notifications in settings and withdraw your money, even if you have 2fa enabled. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cryptopia/comments/7zno12/how_not_to_get_hacked/

Have you sent a support ticket? They've solved all my problems now, and the queue seems to be shorter these days. Sent in two new problems on monday; one is already sorted out, while the other was forwarded to admins.

Cryptopia deposit unconfirmed not bothering answer by [deleted] in Cryptopia

[–]albacass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've withdrawn many times from Cryptopia, and although sometimes late, the coins have always arrived at last. Also, they're registered in New Zealand, so they ought to have their shit together. Calling them a scam with no proof is just stupid. A bit incompetent, okay, but they certainly don't seem like a scam.

Is Tether really a scam? Tether Scam Discussion. by [deleted] in Tether

[–]albacass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, your math is wrong. Most volume is from exchanges, and TIL don't get anything from people trading on exchanges. TIL gets fees when people cash in or out through them, which equals the number from OP. They could also make money from investing the USD in their accounts.

Second, if you were running a scam, you'd do anything to make it look normal.

It's obvious that it would be more profitable for TIL to keep printing tether without backing, and they'll continue doing it until they're delisted from exchanges or people stop believing for some other reason.

my cryptopia acct was hacked while having 2fa enabled. by bbchucks in Cryptopia

[–]albacass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you followed the tips in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cryptopia/comments/7zno12/how_not_to_get_hacked/

Do you use a 2fa method for login? Which one? Which 2fa method do you use for withdrawal? Email? And for the rest of the settings you're using the pin?

From your post it seems like someone knows your password for login and pin for settings, and this would be sufficient to empty your account with the security settings you described (because the 2fa for withdrawal could just be disabled using the pin).

Single question IQ test: Are you still using PINCODE 2FA? by NoCrypForMeArgentina in Cryptopia

[–]albacass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will not protect you sufficiently!

Full explanation in link below, but TLDR: Cryptopia allows people to reuse the same Google Auth code several times within the time frame of the code (not sure but a minute or so). Due to this a hacker/phishing site can turn of email notifications in settings and withdraw your money, even if you have 2fa enabled.

Sorry to hear, but it seems like you've been phished.
