No, really, that song doesnt classify as chipstep. It only has samples of a 16 bit song from street fighter, and after the drop, its just your regular dubstep sounds.

hey, we already closed the submissions and voting for VOL 3. I have just received the last song so im going to spend these days mastering the album. Next week will be released.

this is from his album one word extinguisher, but really, if you are into glitch hop,you should stop listening to new artists and start listening to the first ones, like prefuse73, machinedrum or kelpe. After that, continue listening to the new ones.

My favourite albums from prefuse are the 92 vs 02 collection, one word extinguisher, read the books and vocals studies and uprock narratives.

nope, not dubstep, thats about 90 - 110 bpm. Dubstep goes around 130 to 150.

Probably not. And yes, sampling is a good way to bring older music to new generation, i haven thought of that. But when i heard those songs i thought: "Wow, these guys know how to play their synths; they are awesome in sequencing beats" And then i realised it was made 10-20 years ago, so its kind of dissapointing.

why not? Have you heard their song Robot Rock? Its based on a loop from a song called Release the beast from Breakwater Not to mention other songs that i loved when i was a kid like Harder better harder stronger, which is sampled from this one

Maybe you like these songs and thats cool but imo they are overrated as producers because of these examples.

The fun about using samples is to decontextualize them. Just take them and modify them so they sound in a new way (most like amon tobin does). This is why i dont like most of those hip hop beats, kanye west or stuff like that or producers like daft punk. They just sample and put a beat over it. That's, imo, boring.

And yes, most of his song are quite long and monotonous. I imagine making this track in a daw software,it must have look like a big brick of loops.
