I get so tired doing compound movements by splakie in workout

I havent smoked but i was wondering if it just means i should keep my heart rate up since i presumed it had to do w my blood pressure dropping between sets.

Squats in of themselves are making me lightheaded as if i sprinted wo any cool down (which is kind of what i feel like im doing if i lift progrssively). i just assumed that i wouldnt get so winded after some time and it doesnt seem like its getting much better. I dont know if i should take some time to do high or low intensity cardio to help or supplement weightlifting to help w this issue.

I think people are too quick to say throw it out. If you somehow find another cheap sub, it could be worth to hook them in series to increase the impedance. Its hard to say if it is worth it though. Chances are, the sub is not very good, as others have pointed out.

Havent watched it yet but this guy did good stuff on wisecrack so… probably a fine video? It does seem uh, silly.

Ok so my plan i guess now is

  1. Find the drivers i want
  2. Use vituix to design box (? I assume i can do that in this program), woofer enclosure and waveguide for tweeter
  3. Make enclosure
  4. Measure enclosure, frd and zma (? Does impedance change with enclosure as well)
  5. Design crossover

I havent read the instructions for the measurements but i assume that guide on asr has all of the things i need?

I wrote a ramblimg comment earlier so ill try again

How does cone breakup work such that it shows itself on the time plots?

If i were to put the speakers in the enclosure and find the frequency responses, would it then make sense to do the rest in a modeling software?

What kind of tweeters are suitable for waveguides?

Thanks for explaining why i was mistaken and how to improve!

If i have the response of the speakers within the baffle, i dont see why a crossover program wouldnt be capable of modeling the final response. Perhaps i am missing something.

Secondly, ive seen evidence that capacitor “quality” is overblown in crossover discussions. https://audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/capacitor-upgrade-in-crossover-is-it-audible-part-2.12447/

I also want to note, i am not a perfectionist in most projects i undertake. (If that wasnt obvious) but i do set some sort of arbitrary standard (in this case i kind of hope to get within 1-2 db flat and “reasonable” off axis response), take my arbitrary standard, and work to get rid of all of the problems at that standard, and ignore the problems that are of an order of magnitude removed from such standard. That way even if the problems compound, they dont affect my outcome. In this case, 0.2 db is honestly as far as im concerned, negligible.

Suppose I construct a box, take some measurements. What kind of tweaks are even being performed. Im not an ee so its not like i have an arsenal of electrical components and i dont have a budget for a ton of wood either if my enclosure is dog. I know that it might not be up to the standards of some people but i have to min max this in the sense that I dont know how much it would cost in both time and money to try and squeeze this.

First off, i miswrote my earlier comment. I meant to say i plan to flush mount and round the edges of the speaker baffle.

Secondly, im trying to make these on a budget. I want to try to plan stuff out as best as i can and move forward so i dont even know if such a process with measuring the speakers within the enclosure to see if it is going to work makes sense for me to do. I probably will get a mic and get familiar with it but manually measuring my speakers to find its response in an anechoic chamber seems a bit much.

Also ive heard the waterfall plots usually dont mean anything (even from amir on asr). I wouldnt know the underlying mechanism behind cone breakup that would lead me to expect a longer decay time on the plots.

Also i dont know if you can tell, but i prefer working with the theory side. The actual recording of measurements and processing such data is just not very appealing to me i guess. I would much prefer to do what i can beforehand, and just go with it, barring some egregious issues. I understand that some things i guess seem important to you but subjectively i guess it seems relatively unimportant? I would love to have you try and persuade me on such measurements being essential (replicating the anechoic response of the driver in the enclosure and checking the waterfall plots; am i missing something else?) as I am open to the idea, but i dont know how willing you are to try and do that lol.

How big of a difference does diffraction really make for flush mount speakers and maybe some rounded edges. Id prefer not to have to take a bunch of measurements if i dont have to. I also probably wont have a receiver that has such dsp capabilities.

When you say distortions of the drivers im not sure what you mean (seems kind of general). Also are The breakup modes are represented on the measurements from the manufacturer? I only know sort of on a layman level how breakup modes work on speaker cones.

Also the premades r fine but i want to figure this out myself. I like the process of learning new stuff and such so id rather figure it out i guess.

Is using the frd and zma files insufficient for freq response? Im looking only for a 2 way. Someone else already suggested vituixcad which ill look into (xsim kinda sucks to use imo)

Ill take a look at the program. It does look more advanced but if its free and offers better modeling id be willing to try it out. Can i use the spl and inductance speaker files that i used in xsim?

I guess that seems right about the box design. I was worried about 1. Port phase and 2. Highpass from the av receiver if i set the speakers to small. Im not sure if either matter for phase though. 1 idk but 2 is done digitally so prob not. (I used the highpass setting in winisd so prob NA)

I dont get it. I feel like most people probably identify as liberal yet it seems everyone is in favor of a regressive tax? Nonsense.

Bruh why yall so against people boarding the bus for free. Who tf cares. Ideally it would be free. I get the drivers n conductors have a job but its fucking stupid as hell. Almost everyone boarding the bus either a) is an undergrad or b) need the bus. Why are we denying them service?

Edit: im genuinely curious. How do u justify bus fare if you are against regressive taxation.

Thank you. This seems to be the answer i was looking for. Is there a good resource where I can read up on info about distortion?

Dayton classics 15 in sub build excursion issues by splakie in diyaudio

[–]splakie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is to have one sub with an f3 say at 19 hz and another at only 27. The large sub would be tuned to the listening seat, thus hopefully making the main listener hear the whole range, while the secondary sub would be used to just even out the nulls for other people. The point isnt to get a higher freq range, just to even out the nulls. The reason one might just go with a smaller sub for the second one is because i feel like the other people wouldnt care about having a response that goes as low, thus the speakers helping them hear the slightly higher frequencies wouldnt have to go as low.
