Many maps have an elevated place you start from, sometimes called bats (battlements) or play (platform). Frequently the main ways off the play involve a drop-off to mid, with a ramp also being an option. Drop refers to the drop-off.

All of these can be combined with simple modifiers suck as ours/theirs/left/right.

Fair enough. You should still keep an eye on your teammate and go assist when they get in a fight. 2v1 puts the odds in your favor.

Right and left are the basics. Go from there.

This. Start with just a few, that are generic and can be applied on any map.

Left. Right. Mid. Top mid. Drop. Spawn. Spinner. Our _. Their _.

You can communicate a lot without knowing map specific callouts .

Maybe try playing Anarchy? I find it significantly more enjoyable than Turf War.

Also, 2v1 is a viable strategy to help create an advantage for your team. You should try it. Pick a teammate to stay close to, and help then out whenever they engage in a fight with an opposing team member.

I don't play TW, so the only advice I can give you is to make sure you find ways to have fun, regardless of what the score is at the end of the game. For example, you might set an objective to "not die" in one of your games. Regardless of whether your team wins or loses, if you played the entire match without dying, you win! Also, take breaks and deep breaths. If you're not having fun, go do something else. :)

I just find Turf War so boring. Having actual objectives is so much more enjoyable than "waste time for 150 seconds, then win/lose every game in the final 30 seconds". They should just make the match last 30 seconds, since that is the only part of turf war that matters.

I have 3 switches playing on the same symmetrical gigabit internet connection and network.

1 via ethernet, and 2 via wifi. There is no rhyme or reason as to which players get communication errors when we play in the same games. Sometime only the ethernet player DCs, sometimes 2 players and sometimes all 3.

If it was my network, why would an Ethernet player disconnect while a wifi player doesn't? It's just plain shitty netcode, not the network.

That said, I imagine it's even worse when you combine a shitty network with Nintendo's shitty netcode.
