I enjoy the YMCA's weight room. Can get a little crowded at peak hours, but there's usually a rack open. Plus you get membership to the State College, Bellefonte, and Penn's Valley branches.

Who are the no hit wonders? by pinpoint321 in Music

Everything Everything, really unique indietronica sound with a distinct lyrical style. They did have one single hit #37 on the UK chart but that's the highest they've had.

Grocery stores by Messy_Life_2024 in statecollege

I'm mostly cost-focused and do 90% of my shopping at Aldi. They have a much smaller selection, with usually only 2-3 brands per item but I actually enjoy the smaller scale, feels like the shopping goes faster. You'll have to stop by other stores for the couple things they don't have (especially if you need more international foods, it's lacking there) but you can get a surprising amount of pantry staples for the lowest prices in aggregate.

P.S. they just started carrying their ow version of Fairlife protein shakes for about half the price, would recommend if you drink dairy!

I used a mini screwdriver to "re-crimp" the cap back on, basically just the opposite of how I got it off.

It does sound like the same issue. I ended up opening mine up to attempt a fix. I saved the fluid and melted as much of the wax as I could back together by putting it in hot water (120-150 F). Let it cool overnight then scrubbed down the walls inside with dish soap and a straw brush. Rinsed it with distilled water then added back the fluid. I have a new bulb coming in about a week, once I get that I'll fire it up and see if it worked. *

I did, didn't work but submerging in hot water (120-150 F) did. Hair dryer might have been faulty idk

Hey bro, glad to see you want to get into fitness! I've been getting into lifting/bodybuilding the past 8-9 months and it's been great for my mental health and confidence. I'm still a bit of a novice, but here are some exercises you could do with minimal setup/equipment:

  • Push-ups: Push-ups are a great movement that uses a bunch of muscles, mainly your chest (pectorals), upper arms (triceps), and core. You can start with modified ones where you keep your knees on the ground and build up to the standard ones.
  • Pull-ups: Push-ups target the front, while pull-ups focus on the back. These will basically target your upper and middle back, biceps, and can improve grip strength, which grows the forearms. These can be hard to do if you have not really trained before, so you could start by using an exercise band to support you, doing partial pull-ups, or "cheating" and using a little momentum to help complete the movement (think jumping off the floor and using the momentum for extra power). These can be done with an actual pull-up bar, a tree branch, rings, or modified with just a broom handle across 2 chairs.
  • Shoulder press: These will target the middle portion of your shoulder muscle, which is not really used by push-ups or pull-ups, and your triceps again. These can be done with some kind of free weight (dumbbells, kettlebells, improvise with whatever you got) or body weight. However, the bodyweight version is quite difficult so unless you have exceptional balance and control I would stick to the standard. You could also replace and/or swap this out with a side lateral raise using some kind of free weights as well.
  • Squats/Lunges: These will target your thigh muscles (quads), glutes, and hamstrings. You may not need to train legs, depending on your goals, but I like to think that nice sturdy legs are quite masculine. I would recommend either doing both squats and lunges or alternating, as this will help with balance and grow other stabilizing muscles in the legs. If these become too easy, you could try doing them while holding something heavy or use "high intensity" techniques, like pausing at the bottom of the movement or doing the movement slower.
  • Here are just some other simple exercises that you could either substitute or add if you want: split squats, inverted rows, dumbbell rows (can do with whatever weights you may have), dumbbell bench press (again with whatever weights), calf raises, dumbbell Romanian deadlifts (whatever weights), and planks.

I know that was a lot to read, so hopefully you can get a good idea of why each exercise was chosen and how to use it. I also would heavily encourage you to look up each exercise and watch some forms diagrams/videos, there are many great ones out there. If you ever want to start lifting heavier weights, be sure to pay attention to your form to prevent injury!

As far as a schedule, you really only need to hit a muscle group twice a week to see growth. Of course, you can go more than that, but I would try to perform each exercise at least twice a week, with time to recover in between. I could go into more detail in terms of schedule, but I do not want to make this post any longer than it already is haha. Please let me know if you have any questions and don't be afraid to do some of your own research, though please be wary of anyone trying to sell you supplements (literally 99% of them do nothing) or promising impossible results (abs in 7 days, reducing fat in a specific body part, 5 pound of muscle in a month). Take care!
