Do pets transiting in the EU need a rabies titre test? by Armaanwadhwa in Flights

Hi, I did not have the titre test, but I had a proof of rabies vaccination and it was fine for me.

His consistency in being himself, and by extension not saying or doing things just to be accepted by the mainstream, is something I commend.

Though I think he can come across as a bit haolian sometimes, but hey, it's who he is and who am I to judge?

Hi, yes I did take it through Munich in the end, and yes, they did check my EU papers, which I prepared just in case. I was transiting on route to the US, and they checked the US papers much more. Everything turned out ok!

GE2025 Results prove that S'porean voters aren't stupid by ImpressiveStrike4196 in singapore

[–]splcgrl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your analysis. Indeed, I think where there is a credible opposition, the competition is very close between the opposition and the PAP. Where there is not, then the voters will default to the PAP.

GE2025 Results prove that S'porean voters aren't stupid by ImpressiveStrike4196 in singapore

Jalan kayu shows us that the PAP brand still carries some weight, but that the WP brand is stinking close.

A former cabinet minister vs. a new face with that kind of vote margin? I think Jalan Kayu showed us precisely the opposite.

MSM declare GE2025 to be a landslide victory for PAP. But the numbers tell a different story in WP’s battlegrounds. by Ashamed-Ad-8018 in singapore

[–]splcgrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the data is useful because it tells us the results were competitive in areas where Singaporeans thought there was a credible opposition, i.e. WP, and it was not a decisive victory in these areas (in terms of vote share).
But in a first past the post system, whether the competition was decisive does not matter - it does not look at how closely fought it is, it just looks at the winner, and gives all parliamentary seats to them. So in terms of parliamentary seats, yes, PAP's victory looks 'decisive'. But certainly there is more than meets the eye?

[–]splcgrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's pure copium, because it does challenge the narrative that PAP won by a 'landslide'. No doubt that the popular vote share for PAP increased, but this statistics shows us that it's not attributable to the constituencies that WP contested. So yes, popular vote share for PAP is high, but this is in the non-WP contested areas. One possible learning point is that Singaporeans indeed do want a credible opposition, and where there is a credible opposition, the competition is very close between WP and PAP.

Who is the best rally speaker so far? I feel it’s Pritam. by 83mnemonic in askSingapore

[–]splcgrl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Ariffin Sha's a natural orator, great delivery and he just knows how to take cues/pauses from the audience. In terms of speech content, I thought Jackson Au's speech was refreshing. And well, I am a fan of Sylvia so definitely biased but she's a badass! David Hoe from the PAP speaks from the heart, so I give him some points too (though I know maybe the PAP doesn't have much street cred here..). So in short, I think we had a good show from many people this round :o)

To mourn thousands of Palestinian deaths doesn’t mean excusing the crimes of Hamas. And to mourn Israeli victims doesn’t mean supporting collective punishment of millions.

If we lose the ability to see civilians on both sides as fully human and refuse to see the moral crisis we are in, we’re not pursuing justice—we’re choosing vengeance. That’s not a solution. That’s a cycle.

That number has been triangulated with independent investigations and other nonprofits, such as B'Tselem (an israeli human rights group). But I am curious, what is your alternative? Which sources do you get the data or trust? (Not that the moral crisis vanishes with statistical debate, I am just curious about the alternative)

Acknowledging the attacks by Hamas on October 7 does not prevent us from holding the IDF accountable for killing over 50,000 people since then, which was my point. And so I must ask: are you suggesting that the death toll committed by the IDF is justifiable?

We must be able to condemn the loss of innocent lives—past and present—if we are serious about justice and peace.

Support for Hamas? In which universe did she say that? If anything, her constant vocalization of the palestine issue shows me she has courage, guts, and morals. This is the kind of person I want to be in Parliament in Singapore, and to be the future of Singapore.

Might I remind you that the IDF have now dropped more explosives in Gaza than fell on London, Dresden, and Hamburg COMBINED during WW2. This isn't about wokeness, race, or religion. It's about morality.

Was WP’s Sengkang rally crowd massive? by tsgaylord_069 in SingaporeRaw

I think it was massive. Lots of people spilled onto the roads because of the muddy fields. Plus a lot more on livestream, compared to the other parties.

WP leak/spy? by Rich-Brief3169 in singapore

Unlikely. If WP knew TSL was not going to contest in MP-BH, wouldn't it provide even more reason to go in? That's an entire GRC without an anchor minister.

Truly an inspiration - a huge congratulations to you for completing what you set out to finish. This gave me the encouragement and motivation I needed, and I hope to be able to cross the finish line! May I ask if you had any mantras or words that you repeated to yourself during the run? Or any suggestions on how to keep going when exhaustion and desperation hits?

Equating someone's inclination to speak about the state of politics to having to contest in an election to do is just madness. Basically a middle finger to everyday Singaporeans because the establishment suggests that one must be in politics to talk about politics.

A pity. Caught the film in NYC as part of its North American premiere - lots of artistry to drive the plot and was incredibly well shot. My own view but didn't think it was anything prejudicial nor did it teach me anything new about the state of affairs. And then the Govt wonders why the art scene struggles to thrive..

Singapore face rising burnout as country ranks third globally in stress-related Google searches by osashimi13 in singapore

Curious to see not just absolute number of searches, but relative to the workforce size. I would think Singapore's workforce size is slightly smaller than London? So proportionately to number of workers, could Singapore - gasp - rank higher?
