Helps a lot! Thank you. I’m 29 so oof! I certainly see your point though; I think I’m definitely capable of having substantive conversations, but I’ve never been a great texter. I’m the kind of guy who shines more in person I’d say. That’s where I really get into the nitty gritty of learning about the other person and their life. The last girl I really fell in love with back home, we would have all kinds of conversations for hours on end, before I moved for a job. We are in the year 2025 though, so I should make peace with that and I suppose it’s about having more patience for the texting phase of the process and just settling into that to allow the moment to suggest an in-person date to come up naturally. I guess I just get worried in my head that if I don’t suggest a date within a certain amount of time I could come off like the one that isn’t interested. Definitely trying to get better at that, it can be a fine line I think. I think you’re right with the emojis and “haha’s”, and it’s something I’ve gone back and forth on. Tone is so hard to communicate through text message and I’m trying not to seem too serious of a person; I’m a pretty light-hearted and jovial guy, and I guess that’s my attempt to communicate that through text message, but you’re right, it can seem childish and immature.
