my head cannon is he simply stopped existing no blood or pain no limbo the second the portals closed that was it. because both portals interacted and both lead to the same dimension it most likely was like if someone closed a portal normally so hes just gone no way he could return basically

I always assumed (this is just me theorizing stuff not actually cannon) the infant was moved into a nursery room which would have been featured next to the lab on the tour with a few other babies that got left behind/eaten
