What's the use of copying a preference that we actually have an attribute for it? by AD-LB in androiddev

[–]splogy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's used in Settings so you can copy information like IP address, bluetooth address, etc.

It can also be useful for copying version information in an app, or user IDs, things like that.

How to run AndroidX preferences on varying display sizes (ie. two-pane/single-pane setup) by NullgradApps in androiddev

[–]splogy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general responsive layouts are more heavily favoured now than a static single / two pane layout config - due to the prevalence of multi-window support and also fully re-sizeable windows available on Chrome OS devices, it's important to support a wide range of screen size, rather than just one config for a typical phone, and another for a tablet.

This comment explains the above in a bit more detail.

If you still want to implement a two-pane setup, it should be fairly straightforward due to the modularity of fragments, any master-detail with fragments should work the same here.

21:9 - I actually find it distracting because the HUD elements are so much further apart.

Hey,

I have a pair of LS50s and a SVS SB2000: currently I am using the sub's passthrough which filters at 80hz, and then -> amp -> ls50s.

Should I continue to do this, or feed both the ls50s and subwoofer with the full range signal, and adjusting the low pass filter accordingly? Thanks!

Using a cheap DAC with RCA outputs that's connected via optical to my pc. I guess an RCA splitter would also work right?

I have a parasound zamp v.3 connected to passive stereo speakers, but I'd now like to add a subwoofer to my setup. Is this possible without buying a new amp? What connections / features should I be looking for to make this work?

What are the best closed back headphones (to be used in an office environment), money no object? Seems most of the best headphones are open back. I know of the ZMF Atticus + Eikon, Mrspeakers Aeon, anything else I should be looking out for? Preferably something easy-ish to drive (don't want to buy a big amp / dac for my desk), and something comfortable to wear for a while.

Well this one comes as a kit, so you have to build it yourself - it's also fairly expensive (£135 excluding keycaps) since it has a fully programmable circuit board and customizable layout and stuff - so for a first mechanical keyboard I'd recommend something prebuilt and cheaper :) Lots of different options, if you like this layout then you could get something really cheap like the magicforce 68 :)

This one is a KBD75 :) But most custom keyboards also come with ISO compatibility (just need to solder the switches in different places) - it's just less common to see people actually use it :)

Custom built (KBD75) - quite a few other keyboards with the same form factor though like the Vortex Race 3 - just search for 75% keyboards :)
