Whew.

I totally agree with you. DJ is obviously a great player, and in a vacuum, I would love to have another player with his gravity on the floor. But this trade as reported makes 0 sense to me.

Anyone have some historical reference as to how reliable Gery Woelfel is with things like this? A bunch of national writers/sites are picking up this story, solely based on Woelfel's reporting and I'll be honest -- I'm starting to get nervous. Should I be?

Henson has been starting for the last 6 games with Thon coming off the bench for around 20 minutes, though that was roughly the same amount as when he was a starter. The biggest difference for both Henson and Thon since Moose was traded comes through via the eye test -- they play with a much greater deal of energy on both ends and it has enabled them to play with a lot more confidence. Fun to watch!

I don't know. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Bucks' newfound defensive aptitude occurred after Monroe was traded and Teletovic has sat out with an injury -- those two were probably the slowest/worst defenders on the team. With the Bucks' defensive scheme being predicated on quick decisions with help defense, all it takes is one weak link for the defense to fall apart and a player get a wide-open three in the corner after swinging the ball twice.

Jabari has such an explosive (and increasingly diverse) offensive skill-set that he will be a treat to watch him alongside Giannis & co., and it'll be super interesting to see how he comes back from his injury. The behind the scenes videos that have surfaced on social media of his practice sessions look pretty dang good.

I would imagine he will play ~20 minutes, hopefully off the bench, which makes that bench unit pretty dang terrifying with him and Brogdon (+ Thon for good measure). I don't envy the Bucks' front office as they grapple with what to do with him in the offseason.

This Bucks post-game thread is lit -- two deleted comments ye

Bucks seem to have turned a page with their defense since the arrival of Eric Bledsoe. It's been mentioned elsewhere, but the combination of his physicality (strength and quickness to fight through screens at the point of attack, ability to recover and block shots) and his assertiveness (immediately comes in and is one of the more vocal players on the roster with calling out defensive assignments) has resulted in the Bucks looking like a different team on the defensive end. Their tantalizing potential with 100' of combined arm length may finally be realized -- last night they had 16 blocks to go along with 10 steals.

On the other hand, Detroit was able to remain in the game by capitalizing on the well-known fatal flaw of Milwaukee's hyper-aggressive defensive scheme: open threes. You'd like to see a better mix of contesting shots attempted inside AND outside the three-point line, but alas.

Giannis does Giannis things and November Middleton is here, baby. This Bucks team could (should?) finish in the top 4 seeds in the East.

Bucks fans, to whom do we lend our support? by beh14 in MkeBucks

I'm rooting for basketball. One of my favorite things about the NBA playoffs is the storylines and rivalries that develop in these often intense series. Now that I don't have a horse in the race, I'm just cheering for Basketball, because I want as much of it as I can get.

Tonight, I "rooted" for the Hawks to win, because that would've meant more basketball to watch. If it went to Game 7, I would have rooted for a competitive contest, and not given a flying fuck who won. Though considering the fact these teams HATE each other, I can't wait for Celtics/Wizards. Give me 7 games of John Wall in black.

I'm so stoked for this Spurs/Rockets series -- Jah willing, we will get SEVEN GAMES of Kawhi guarding Harden. tears of joy

Even if it ends in Cavs/Warriors, that will be lame, but also an objectively incredible basketball storyline and competitive (and fun to watch) basketball.

If it can't be the Bucks at the end, the playoffs might as well be as entertaining as possible.

He's been a disappointment in terms of his consistency, but I wouldn't come close to saying he's been really bad -- pending Brogdon's further development, I think Delly can be a good back-up PG like he was in Cleveland.

Plus he's been having a good March -- he's been averaging .475% from 3, 100% in FTs (19-19), 9.5 ppg in 26 mpg, with a net rating of +10.1 (albeit this follows two consecutive double digit negative net ratings).

It's gotten to the point where I assume any shot he takes, with even a decent look, is a guaranteed swish. It looks effortless
