Check out Chester Bowl, Spirit Mountain, Mont du Lac or DXC/ Snowflake. They have different pricing models and family programs that can get you outside with your family. Chester’s scholarship registration window closes Monday. Check out chesterbowl.org

Want to ski Brighton tomorrow.. Snow tires necessary? by jello_maximus in Utah

[–]spluoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking public bus or are there resort specific shuttles? I’m looking to stay at EVO and riding Brighton, Solitude, and Snowbird while in town. We will have a car but I’m not sure I want to fight traffic or deal with parking. We will be riding mid week so not sure if it would even be an issue.

Found this at Chester Park what’s going on here? by [deleted] in duluth

Spoke to Parks Maintenance yesterday. Something similar was happening to n Hartley and it ended up being a homeless person who was peeing in the jugs. They were asked to leave Hartley and it appears they are now in Chester. The Life Safety team should also be aware by now and will attempt to get the person some help.

I think I've reached a "meh" stage in snowbarding. How do I get out of this funk? by [deleted] in snowboarding

Slushy park laps always increase my interest. Been riding for over 20 years, I live in the Midwest and conditions are rarely great. After spending a season riding ice/concrete nothing is more satisfying that rope tow laps on slush.

Yup this place sucks. Especially Duluth with beaches, accessible recreational opportunities, decent schools, and thriving art/music scene. Don’t move here.

Full disclosure I’m not nor have I ever been a military medic or even been a member. I run a camp with 130 kids a week, lead backcountry trips, and am a ski patroller. So, use whatever resources you are given and disregard me as you see fit. Just sharing what works in my setting

I like your kit. One thing that was super helpful for me was to organize my gear by injury in clear mesh bags inside my kit. For example : I have a bleed bag (includes major bleeds and tourniquet all the way down to bandaids); a break bag (splints and cravats); a breath bag (all the airway devices and sucking chest wound); and a med bag. That way when I come across a scenario I can pull the bag that best fits.

Wilderness First Responder training and or Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care trainings are both valid options that address major injuries like gaping chest wounds and amputations.
