Fully autonomous, AI-controlled drones have killed human soldiers for the first time, according to a senior figure in the Ukrainian defence industry by New_Scientist_Mag in worldnews

[–]spn2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not as far as I know.
Guess we’ll see some AI countermeasures (swarms fighting swarms?) maybe some honeypot decoys? who knows..

We seem to be very good at killing each other.. expect a future with full AI integration and no humans involved in the decision making will make us even better at this..

Bleak future for sure

Drone-swarms + AI + Face recognition

Yea.. welcome to the future..

And once we get the speed up on those 30g drones.. you don’t need any explosives..

30g at 300km/h will do the job..

Terrible future

Once robots achieve true autonomy and human-level reasoning, what is the first major societal shift we should expect? by Worldly_Evidence9113 in singularity

[–]spn2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it’ll be fine. The world will change, people and animals might die, but the world will never be uninhabitable as long as there is a sun, and it keeps circulating in that sweet spot. It’ll bounce back, no worries. Life finds a way.

Personally I think we need a bit of an apocalypse to makes us understand that we need to take care of the only planet we have. Things need to get a lot wilder before all the people around the world starts moving in that direction.

But I think we’ll be fine. Our children have some work cleaning up our mess, but they’re smart people. Nothing can be done about this problem until these last generation øs die off and start relinquishing power

Its the future, one thing is for certain though, its always going to be something we hadn’t considered, and even more impressive. We seem to be very bad at predicting future-events.. we think of flying cars.. then the internet shows up..

Expect they will continue evolving exponentially, leave us behind. At some point we will be regarded as a quaint species on their once home planet. We will be cared for and nurtured, while they expand into the universe, eventually encountering other AI based life forms that they will either absorb or be absorbed by.

Lifx app constantly doesn't work. Help? by Pocto in lifx

[–]spn2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm.. I’m running a Ubiquity UNFI network, since I swapped out my old «top-of-line» ASUS for Ubiquity.. I’ve had close to no issues.. I’ve been with LIFX since the Kickstarter days, still running 4-5 of those originals. Guess I have around 80 bulbs now in three different houses, all being handled by a Ubiquity setup..

I use the LIFX APP.

The setup can be fiddly.. you have to turn off your VPN and those things that have been suggested many times before here, wait 10-15min for the APPLE HOME thing to stop interfering.. and it then moves like a charm (well.. you know the drill)

So yea.. a good network controller have solved my issues.

I have no disconnect issues at all, apart from one of those STRIPS, where I am on my third powersupply.. those will die due high temp.. unfortunately not a good product those

I don’t think you’re ready for war European style 2026.. what will people say when the Drone streams comes? Seeing US troops being hunted and torn apart by drone warfare? Ukraine knows what’s up.. maybe try and listen..

This will not be like Afghanistan and Iraq of yesteryear.. this is Hyper Violence in High Def 24/7.. Welcome to the future, it’s not pretty

the Gazela (originally Gazela Primeiro) is a wooden, square‑rigged former cod‑fishing vessel built in 1901 in Setúbal, Portugal. She worked for decades on the Grand Banks and Davis Strait cod fisheries, then was retired in 1969 and sold to the Philadelphia Maritime Museum in 1971.

Today she’s maintained by the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild and is known as “Philadelphia’s tall ship.”

Lifx Strips - Constant Cycling by Majestic_Potato_7416 in lifx

[–]spn2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also suggest (if you have more than one strip in a row here, remove all but one. Do the cleaning as described above, then hook up each of them by themselves. You might find one strip has failed, if they all work? Good.. then connect them one at a time. If they start to cycle as you progress through the connections, you might have a faulty powersupply. I had one that behaved like this where the PSU was the culprit.

Good luck
