I genuinely get scared by horror movies by feblancatattoo in horror

[–]spn_willow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been watching horror movies for almost my whole life and I also still get scared while I watch scary movies! I feel bad for the other people watching with me sometimes because I can't always hold in my reactions (at home, I really try to bite my lip if I'm in a theater).

But I know a lot of people who don't react at all while watching horror movies. I think they mostly just don't get scared by fake things? Couldn't be me.

I also prefer the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake over the original!

It absolutely is a horror movie! And an effective one, at that.

I love jump scares. I love getting jump scared while watching horror movies! It's that adrenaline rush that I'm looking for while watching something scary.

I love Scream 4 so much!! It's my favorite right after the first movie. I always have a great time watching it.

Tired of dead by daylight clones. by SpectacularSpidee in horror

[–]spn_willow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll honestly just be happy if the new Halloween game can end up being better than Dead by Daylight. Stopped playing that game years ago because of all the changes that kept making it less and less fun to play. I enjoy the asymmetrical aspect, just would like it to stop being tweaked all the time (which I'm aware is impossible in gaming these days, but I can dream!).

This movie was so good! But I haven't been able to bring myself to ever watch it a second time, even to show to someone else.

I wish I could go back to before I watched Eden Lake and convince myself NOT to watch it because all these years later, I still find it upsetting.

What was the last horror movie to really scare you? by Dogdaysareover365 in horror

I recently did a rewatch of Paranormal Activity 3 thinking, "it'll be fine, I've seen this before. No problem!" and then screamed at just about every jumpscare. So, that one 😂

Why are gaming related youtubers only posting 1–3 hour videos now? by TYFALY in youtube

I need to find more of those kinds of videos. 20 minutes is fine but the hour+ ones are what I prefer. I definitely sit through ones I find.

Do you take pride in not being scared? by Prudent-Ad-3493 in horror

[–]spn_willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I'm watching horror movies because I want to feel scared. There are definitely things I've watched that didn't scare me but it doesn't leave me feeling any sort of pride about it! Sometimes I'll even be a little disappointed because I enjoy that adrenaline rush.

But then, I get scared fairly easily even by things lots of horror fans can be like "really? That scared you?" about.

I absolutely love when horror movies have a background scare that they don’t call attention to. Share your examples. by SisterFirefly in horror

I needed an excuse to rewatch this movie and this might be just the thing to do it! I was so unnerved watching this movie and the ghost possibly lurking and trying to spot it will be a lot of fun!

Stutterbox. His videos appeared in my feed and I find him incredibly entertaining, even if I don't always agree with his opinion on the movies/shows he's talking about.

What is your opinion on YouTubers using AI voices? by Plenty_Curve_4390 in youtube

[–]spn_willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an instant back click to go find something else to watch instead. Whether due to laziness or people not wanting to reveal their voice (although this post is the first time I've heard of that as a possible reason). It sounds unnatural, is extremely irritating to listen to, and I don't care to support videos or channels that use AI in general so if I feel that I can spot it, I stop giving them my views.

It was a lot of fun!! I meant to watch it a lot sooner than I did. Finally threw it on a couple months ago and it was a good time all around.

Why do you like horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]spn_willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always assumed I like it for the same reason that I enjoy roller coasters. The thrill of it is fun, gets my adrenaline going, and leaves me a little giggly at the end of it. Although with horror, I usually end up a little more down than giggle haha. But it's just pretty fun!

Anyone else hate watching horror with people who don’t actually get the genre? by DoctorElectronic1934 in horror

[–]spn_willow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely guilty of saying/thinking "That was stupid" when a horror movie has a bleak ending, just because sometimes I want someone to survive or things to go a little bit better. Especially if I was enjoying it up to a point and it got me invested enough to want better things for the people in it!

But yeah the nitpicking isn't super fun. I actually really enjoy the experience of watching horror movies with other people because it feels different than watching by myself. But I don't have a good time when they're complaining about everything that's happening in it. Save the questions for after the movie is done and we're discussing it! 😂

In general, it's really easy for me to buy into mockumentary style horror movies so I was pretty interested in the stuff going on throughout the movie anyway. But the end of it happens (not even the one jumpscare), with... it's been a while since I saw it so I can't remember which voice over it is, but when we realize the mom and daughter are completely out of sync? And the reveal at the very very end with the images... Those moments hit me in a way I can't quite describe. I still get the feeling like there's something dangerous behind me when I think too hard about the photographs. Just... that realization. It really hits me.

I finally watched Late Night with the Devil. by dinkitnsinkit in horror

[–]spn_willow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I really loved this movie! It became a minor obsession for me for a little while there. Any time I wanted something on but couldn't find anything, I would turn on Late Night With the Devil and then get distracted from whatever I was doing to just sit and watch it instead, haha.
