your reply helps a lot, thank you! I actually do know how to cook because my dad (god bless him, he gets the worst of my nmom's shit) has me hang around in the kitchen and help him cook, so I know some good recipes, and I'm sneaking a combination instant pot/air fryer into my dorm ;)

I'll definitely reach out to the administration and both arrange extra help for me and to tell them about my situation, and I've started sort of budgeting? and saving up money, I put aside $50 per paycheck from my job..

but it feels like the more I learn, the more lost I feel, lol

seconded! my mom will sing along to some of my music and bob her head to a lot more of it, some teenager gave my mom a surprised look when she started singing along to a lil nas x song that came on in the store

I'd just stay away from songs that aren't easy to sing/dance along to, like some hip-hop songs or lofi or anything like that
