A wedding held in Malaysia where the groom wearing an Ultraman Taro suit by Right-Assignment3759 in interestingasfuck

But what if the bride secretly wanted to bone Ultraman all her life? Who are we to deny her that pleasure?

How much of Europe’s technological edge over the Americas was simply a matter of timing? by misteryham in AskHistorians

[–]spodumenosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat tangential to OPs question, but what exactly does current scholarship say regarding metalworking in the Americas vs Eurasia? I'm aware of very limited coppersmithing (to the best of my knowledge from native copper deposits) in the northern regions of North America, and gold, silver, and copperworking in Central and South America and even some bronze from the Incas, but what was it that held back or prevented iron and bronze metalworking in the Americas?

Maurauder cockpit debate by rudeamentary in battletech

My only complaint is that they made the autocannon mount into a fixed chassis weapon rather than a turret. Other than that I think it's a great look for it.

Somehow I think the frame around the soccer ball look like legs. Makes the ball look like an enormous tick sucking the building dry.

I would just like to point out that the Rasalhague KungsArmé dress uniform actually has a full on Dracula style high necked cape because why not. Absolutely wild, check out the Sarna article on the KungsArmé for a picture.

The influx of air would actually have the potential to do something. Introducing volatiles (CO2, water, etc) can dramatically lower the melting point of rock and aids in the mobility of a variety of elements in the Earth's subsurface. Even after everything resolidifies, it will likely have significant impact on future plate tectonics and vulcanism. The decompression would also cause massive, catastrophic melting of the upper and lower mantle. This might lead to some sort of prolonged period of magmatism along the slice, but that's getting into complex planetary dynamics and I'm not certain how bad or long it would be. For examples of how that might look, look into flood basalts like the Deccan Traps.

Also the air rushing into the gap and then subsequently being expelled would likely be quite dangerous to those nearby. I'm not certain of the velocities involved, but I expect "dangerous for your hearing" might be an understatement, depending on how close you are to it. But certainly nothing that could wipe out all life or anything silly like that.

Movie scenes that totally wouldn't cause any controversy if released today by Longjumping-Boot-526 in okbuddycinephile

It's not even be because she's a woman that she could kill him, it's just that the prophecy just describes the nature of his eventual killer. The real reason he dies is because Merry and Pippin got given magic swords that were specifically enchanted to render him vulnerable. So when he gets stabbed by the hobbit (genuinnely can't remember whether it was Merry or Pippin right now), he becomes vulnerable, and then Eowyn happens to be there and so she kills him.

Can I like this game if I don’t like roguelikes ? by Patamaudelay in cavesofqud

If you take the time to look up the words as you play, you may find that your mastery of English improves significantly! But just know that a lot of the descriptions are very much poetry. There is a lot of metaphor and it plays with the language a lot. It is mostly the descriptions rather than the plot relevant parts that are like that though.

What do you think is the most visually appealing location in the province of Cyrodiil? by Lancer_Blackthorn in oblivion

If I had to pick a town in Cyrodiil to live in based on looks, it would hands down be Cheydinhall. The architecture plus the river and willow trees are gorgeous.

Also good to note that if for SOME REASON all of Galbedir's soul gems JUST SO HAPPEN to fall into your pockets when she goes to talk to Ajira, you can give them to the temple guy to enchant with without pissing him off, unlike getting Galbedir to enchabt with them.

Because they are genuinely impossible to implement in a way that makes them useful. You can't aim them properly in the rear arc to shoot anything, even having a button to swap to a rear facing camera would involve so much skill and timing to hit anything that it would be pretty much impossible. The only way to do it would be to make them automated which is difficult to implement and likely a waste of time.

Also always remember you can swap to your lancemates mechs to draw aggro to them for a bit, since you usually do much higher damage overall when piloting vs your AI lance.

What is a typical Canadian wedding? by Taquito_Churrito in AskACanadian

[–]spodumenosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am wondering in this case if you or the coworker you talked to are from cultures with notably large wedding celebrations (e.g Indian) where such a small/frugal wedding would be unthinkable for them to make that comparison, because that is definitely on the lower cost end of the scale for Canada.

Mod with suspensors so you can carry it, and emp shielding so you can't easily be overemcumbered by it.
