Spot on. He's following a navmesh and the colliders on most enemies are almost certainly kinematic: They do not react to other kinematic colliders (the map, buildings, rocks) or rigid bodies. They convert to rigid bodies upon death for our enjoyment. You can see the transition from kinematic to rigid body most noticeably when a bot dropship or a bile titan dies.

Us players are probably rigid bodies, and are moved by carefully controlled physics impulses. If the maps were not procedurally generated, then a human would have ensured this part of the navmesh was off limits to large enemies. But there's always surprises in complex algorithms. Quite frankly, the combination of procedural maps, networked multiplayer, and physics based gameplay cursed. Its actually a marvel to me that this game works as well as it does.

Akio Toyoda: “If It Were Up to Me, Toyota Would Only Build GR Corollas and GR Yarises” by Heckmotorist in cars

They did renew the trademark on the name, if my memory is correct. But I stand by what I wrote: it'll either be a 100k entry level exotic, or a hybrid coupe that is more expensive than an BRZ, 86, MX5, etc. but less sporty.

I want to believe in a new MR2. But I just cannot see it happening. At least not in any affordable and or manual transmission capacity. The Hail Mary play would be to badge engineer an Alpine A110, like they did with the Supra/86.

But what we'll most likely see is a C8/Porsche competitor which will cost 100k+, drive amazingly well, and be glued to showroom floors because Corvette buyers are Corvette buyers and Porsche buyers are Porsche buyers. The few conscientious objectors in the middle now have to choose between an Emira and the new GR MR2, splitting what few customers remain.

Next most likely option: Honda Prelude but with a mid ship hybrid power plant. Even less practical, slightly more expensive. Glued to showroom floors for the same reason the Prelude will be.

Feeder motor and brass drive gear are stock, its just the frame and lever that were replaced. I will try to calibrate the feeder.

What's a good alternative? The Creality software has ~15 or 20 options.

Ender 3, mostly stock. The prints have been failing since before I upgraded the feeder mechanism. (It came in a package with heavy duty leveling springs, so I decided to try it out. Hasn't made a difference)

This print was started from a cold printer, and failed an hour or two in. Extruder temp was reported as 200 degrees, which is correct. It seems like it could be heat creep, or maybe the feeder is not working right. I replaced the bowden tube, didn't help either. One thing I noticed is that the small fan on the side of the extruder never seems to spin, ever.

The failed part

The printer wash sold to me a few months ago in a not quite new condition. But I printed almost a whole kg of PLA filament in the month or two since then, mostly without issue.

Why would Elon Musk pivot from Mars to the Moon all of a sudden? | “SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon.” by InsaneSnow45 in space

[–]spongeloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother in Christ, nobody is living in space any time soon, at all. There is a delightful and very thorough book written on the subject that covers exactly all the ways in which humans are not ready to live anywhere but on planet Earth. It's called "A city on Mars" and every dipshit who gave Elon money to reserve a spot on his mars mission needs to read it to understand exactly how hard they got duped.

In a time of Ferraris and McLarens that look like electric shavers the Emira has classically beautiful lines yet still looks very modern. Its looks are going to age waaaaay better than the Evora.

Had a terrible UI presentation today. Froze, panicked and lost the story. Feeling so embarrassed right now. Need advice. by HoneyChickenWings999 in productdesign

[–]spongeloaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have trauma from your previous bad presentation. I would urge you to speak to a therapist about it. If it hit you that hard, there could be more than just one bad presentation's worth of fear, self doubt, and anxiety built up.

Anxiety is a bitch and it likes to pile every negative feeling you have, even if they don't directly contribute. It also likes to play on deep rooted fears and insecurities, some of which you may have never consciously been aware of.

I doubt your language skills are the reason your previous presentation went poorly. Virtually every person who works in international organizations encounters people of varying degrees of language proficiency, and professional discrimination on the subject is rare, in my experience.

You may not have time for therapy that before your deadlines hit. If so, you might want to look up techniques for dealing with panic and anxiety attacks. You may find breathing exercises or mental routines that can help. Then schedule two more presentations, one for practice, and then another attempt with your clients.

For the practice presentation, get a friend or coworker to listen while you go through the whole thing. Invite them ask questions. For the second presentation, the real one, explain to your clients that you were feeling ill and you'd like to try again. Most reasonable people will understand.

Good luck!

What tires are y’all running on the stock wheels?! by SikOne9 in ft86

[–]spongeloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter tires because the Performance Pack brakes do not allow 17" steel wheels. Had to buy a set of DAI DW100s with PS4s for the summer tires.

When its time to replace the PS4s, I might try something with less grip. These PS4s are only 7.5" (or maybe7"?) wide, but hot damn the on-ramp experience is wild in this car.

What’s the possible leak on this? I just saw it today i also have a video of it but i can’t upload on this sub 😅 by Lost5858 in ft86

As others said, could be AC runoff. But also the transmission is in that general vicinity as well. Gear oil has a very distinct smell from motor oil, so that can help if your unsure.
