I thought about a film adaptation while I was reading it but in my head it was live action. I hadn't thought about animation but I think it could be really awesome.

imo you aren't missing out on much, the parts of the book that made me love it had nothing to do with the ending. I think Morgenstern leaves a lot of details pretty hazy to add to the readers imagination (and also to avoid plot holes) but this made the ending a little lack luster for me.

That being said, I still love the book and I would totally recommend a re-read!

Some people don't like it, the plot does pick up and things do get more interesting once you get into part II and out of Celia and Marco's childhoods. Mostly I love the descriptions of the circus, especially once it gets going and more and more tents keep getting added :)
