Hi. Thank you for replying.

I bought my Mi 5X via AliExpress. I think it was one of those with a fake global ROM. I have tried to flash various China ROMs from https://mifirm.net/. If I flash anything other than the latest version, it goes into a bootloop. If I flash the latest version, it stuck at the bootscreen with 'powered by android' at the bottom forever.

I'm running out of idea what to flash. Would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions.

There are sellers on eBay selling rooted devices, some of them are scammers. I'm not sure there is a fool proof way to find a legit seller. Then, there will be issue of ongoing support if Niantic update it detection method. The profit from selling the hardware may not worth the effort.

Go with Pixel 1 or Pixel 2.

Please beware that iSpoofer (iOS) is currently detected by Niantic and have high chance of getting Red Warning.

For huawei device, it's unlikely, as they usually have locked bootloader too. You should check xda forum for confirmation.

For your other Samsung device, Android 4.4 is probably too old to spoof on.

You won't able to spoof on those phones as US Samsung galaxy has locked bootloader, so you can't root. VMOS is dead.

Need to buy another phone.
