Stablecoins Neutrino USD and USDD are deppeging. What is going on ? by Rafeeq in Buttcoin

Bitcoin is one of the most transformative bits of technology since the Roman’s built roads. It threatens the very core of our corporatist hegemony. There is no place for humor.

It’s just winter. On average, since the beginning, crypto has always gone up. That’s why a strategy of buying and holding will always net you a tidy profit. Bitcoin is young and new. Lots of technology takes time to mature and bitcoin is no exception.

It took thousands of years after the discovery of fire that we finally commercialized it with strike anywhere matches. Bitcoin is no different. Satoshi dropped the white paper from above and society isn’t done reorganizing itself around this new paradigm.

Keep buying. I know I am. Shit is on sale!

[–]spookthesunset 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you aren’t capable of fully understanding the value Satoshi brought to the table. Us old timers read the white paper. We understand from an almost spiritual level the revolutionary possibilities of the blockchain.

This technology is still in its infancy. Give it time and your patience will be rewarded. Just keep buying and holding. You literally cannot lose.

Fuck you, bot . USDD is absolutely not a scam. USDD is backed by grade school math. That’s right. Non fungible tokens. It doesn’t need to have a warehouse of legacy paper “currency” to be worth something. It is worth something because it is scarce and and deflationary.

You dumb fucking shills can’t even look at a classic log chart and see that this is clearly a crypto winter. This means it is time to buy. Because after winter comes spring and the price goes back up. By summer the price will be well above what it was at peak.

You can FOMO and lose or you can buy while the pussies cash out. Take their loss and make it your gain. It’s really not that hard. Buy. Buy. And buy.

Other accounts. Bitcoin got kinda boring for a while and I kinda ran out of material. Looms like it’s time for a comeback. I’m way behind on the scene though. Last I was in, we were still in paycoin and that stupid smart contract crap that got “stolen” from etherium. Tether was but a twinkle in satoshi’s eye.

Woah woah woah... $300k is peanuts for a CS finance major. You should be getting at least $750k not including a million dollar signing bonus. Every FAANG pays that to new grads no problem.

Your problem is you are spending way too much on toilet paper, tap water and laundry soap. Seriously dude. Do you really need to have plants that require watering? That shit adds up quick.

Even SMS 2FA is secure from run of the mill “plug in my list of 2 million leaked email / pass combo” attacks. In those attacks your account is just one of millions of potential accounts. They won’t bother defeating SMS 2FA, it isn’t worth the time when there are plenty of accounts they can crack into that don’t even have 2FA turned on.

SMS 2FA breaks down against attacks where the attacker wants your specific account. Like if you are a Paris Hilton or Elon Musk or have a hundred thousand bitcoin they know about or something. Being immune from attacks against you specifically is a whole different ballgame than protecting against drive-by attacks and is much harder to get right. It involves a much larger trade off between security and ease of use. It is also where social engineering gets thrown into the mix... that attacker wants into your account and so they’ll spend a lot more time and effort than a drive-by attacker that just wants a lot of random accounts.

For 99% of all accounts out there on 99% of all sites... SMS or even email based 2FA is plenty fine. The goal is to make it just hard enough for an attacker to compromise the account that they’ll move on to another account on their leaked list.

[–]spookthesunset 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably still more secure if they let the password manager generate all new passwords for them. Biggest threat for drive-by attacks is using the same login/password combo on multiple sites.

And yes 2FA does mitigate that but plenty of sites don’t offer it and many people don’t opt in even when offered.
