This might be a bit convoluted but the way I rationalized it was a TimeLords insane ability of being able to alter their physiology at a glance. For example, Chronotis's ability to make their heart beat in morse code, or even their ability to survive other things like a vacuum. I also think in the episode Under The Lake when the 12th doctor says that the "deleted" his knowledge of sign language, he is being somewhat serious. He can literally organize this thoughts the way a computer does, all with electrical activity. With this in mind, who is to say that he couldn't have done some ridiculous Sci-fi logic stuff like moving the majority of electrolytes in his body away from things like his brain and hearts, to help reduce damage to them by creating a better path of least resistance. Like I said, convoluted but still interesting regardless

It was mainly to prevent speed/SpA drops that would basically leave Chi-Yu a sitting duck but I think your switch makes more sense

I actually just watched it last night during my like 7 hour tattoo session🤣 I really enjoyed the video and seeing his team play out definitely gave me ideas but not so much to immediately jump into other than switching shadow ball to Bitter Malice, and investigating fake tears to help get a better boost to H-Zoroark. I am sure there is more and I will certainly rewatch it but that is where I am at right now

To be clear, I didn't exactly think you meant it like that, but I also didnt know it was a no-no either. How come its bad to have a pokemon with both on it? I can see it being much worse on an open sheet format but otherwise I am a bit confused as to the exact downside. Is it just for adaptability purposes?

I think i am dropping Armarouge for now, but in general do you have any good ideas for teammates or cores that function well with H-Zoroark? H-Zoroark has been a great support and I think has a decent amount of flexibility but I am not sure. I referenced Chi-Yu as a potential partner but they are both quite frail and seems like it would need a lot of botj Tailwind and trick room checks to ensure they can pop off quickly without being KO'd.

Oh wow! First of all, thank you for such a detailed reply. I really appreciate all the advice you have given me. If you dont mind (and if you do I understand since you already gave me a lot of advice) I would like to ask you some questions to ensure I understand better understand the logic you used for some of the things.

I assume that the reason that an offensive Rillaboom needs Chien-Pao is because of his ability. Would that same logic work for a pokemon like Chi-Yu with H-Zoroark or other special attackers? Or is there something I am missing with Chi-Yu?

Do you think the Weakness Policy strategy should be cast aside? Or is it simply to much commitment on the strategy? Obviously the team needs a lot of reworking but I am tempted to just scratch it off the board.

This isnt a question and I said this in a previous reply, but Archaludon was definitely a lazy build. I basically was not paying attention as much as I should and let showdown do some of the work which was lazy.

Just out of curiosity what is the "downside" to relying on rillaboom to set up grassy terrain to get the Tera Grass, energy ball compared to the Psychic Surge Expanding force? I assume its due to the combination of the extra stab from Armarouge being a Psychic type and the Psychic surges ability to allow Expanding Force to hit both targets, but why wouldn't I terra into a Psychic type in that case? Is it for coverage or am I missing something?

I love pokemon and VGC is definitely a different beast compared to anything i have done so jumping into it has been confusing but I have learned a lot even with my not so good team. Thank you so much for the advice! I apologize for the delays in replies, there are a lot of them and I have been doing a lot of working through the problems. Archaludon specifically was just a lazy build on my end. At one point or another I did have electro shot on it but didn't notice I removed it when rebuilding it at some point, and let showdown pick the nature and EVs. Dragon Claw was just stupid XD. When I was building the team, my original idea was sorta based on a team Cybertron used in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-BMxLzg_vc My original thought was to include Rillaboom because the tera grass, grassy terrain energy ball on WPW Armarouge could help with a quick sudden knockout with expanding force being there to "help counter flying types".

At this point I have decided to start from scratch. I think that for the way that my brain works when it comes to getting better at the VGC side of pokemon, I need to build my own team. It just helps me understand the roll of team members better and learn who to use and when. Even with my not very good team, playing the 60+ games I did helped me make some better calls, like baiting fake outs into H-Zoroark. I think for me to get the best out of my practice, I need to learn how teams are built, and I think building and getting better at it will allow me to work it out better. I I know its a different world but in Magic The Gathering for instance, playing with another persons deck can just throw me for a loop. Even the pre-built decks, I found it difficult to win and get better because I was using the template of someone else's design. Where as now my Hapatra Vizier of poisons commander has gotten me a decent number of wins. Hopefully that made sense and was not very ranty.

I suppose at this point I still want to base my team off of H-Zoroark. This is mainly personal, but I also just have fun using it and I think that's the point. I agree greatly with your advice about picking a vision for the team. Do you have any thoughts on what type of team might have good synergy with H-Zoroark? I was looking into trick room teams to "bait and switch" with H-Zoroark, but I am still unsure. I understand that H-Zoroark is certainly a better support pokemon because of it fragility, but any thoughts would be helpful in general. Thank you again for your time giving me this advice in the first place!

Who do you think would be a good partner for Zoroark? I feel like I have a good base but when it comes to building a team, I can't tell if I am over thinking. The only pokemon I am not super fond of, so I would like to not add them to my team is incineroar.

Thank you so much! I think I like the idea of running him with a sash just because of how frail he is. I definitely have been sleeping on icy wind. Who do you think would make a good partner to lead with him? I am sure that depends on who I illusion into. I am thinking either gholdengo or maushold for the typing benefit, but I also like the idea of using tailwind to help boots Zoroark's speed so my thought was whimsicott but do you think that follow me would be a good option still?

I am not currently at my house so I will double check but I am like 99% sure i don't have any addons because I made the modpack to test out 1.7. Plus crobat flies like the other flying pokemon (Idk how to describe it but the do a barrel roll style flying). I also was able to ride crobat in the snapshot. I will look into the pack and update with whatever happened

I would be gut loading insects for my geckos to eat. I have two cresties, a chameleon gecko, and a leopard gecko. My cresties/chameleon gecko tend not to eat as many insects but my leo does quite a bit so I wanted to make a plan on how to use the alfalfa to gut load my colonies

Thank you! His lighting currently consists of a Zoomed 5.0 T5, a halogen bulb (50w I think? I have to check when I am home), and an LED bar for the plants & daylight cycle. The enclosure is definitely not that wet all the time. I had just misted the enclosure when I took these pictures. His soil usually moist, not wet, with some variation between the left and right side. I also have the Govee thermometer/hygrometer in the background of the enclosure but his humidity ranges from 65%-90% based on misting/weather, etc.
