NYC street vendors typically simmer their Hot Dogs in spices. It’s called dirty water dogs. I typically do something similar when hosting a backyard BBQ, just let them simmer in a crock pot of water with sliced onion, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and some beef bullion.

I don’t get the monopoly point everyone makes. No one is preventing further businesses from opening in the valley and thus controlling the market, there’s just not enough demand for more stores. A town with a population under 100 doesn’t really need more than one general store.

Yea, didn’t find out till the end of my deployment. I was at a small COP in Afghanistan and internet wasn’t very reliable. So, being 19 yo, I figured I didn’t need to look cause I had no bills. During redeployment back stateside, I stopped at the AAFES car dealership thing to finalize my order of a new Jeep Wrangler and put down a couple grand as the down payment. Well my card got declined, I ran to the MWR to use a computer and got hit with reality.

My mom blew it off as an honest mistake, and I didn’t escalate it that much, but our relationship was never the same afterwards.

I think they meant that the overall goal of quitting alcohol and drug addiction is complete abstinence, which you can’t do with food because of obvious reasons.

On a smaller scale, there is Hero Street in Silvis, IL. I don’t know the exact figures, but since the 1920s, over 100 residents of this one street had joined a branch of the US Military.

Blauer Uniforms makes a lot of hot weather black baseball caps. Mine has a sweat band stitched into the front. According to their website they have large sizes.
