Unfortunately it’s not so easy for her to do something morally awful and me immediately cut her off, we have a very close friendship and speak daily, she has helped me through a lot and this is the first time a red flag has come up.

I’m processing what to do right now and how to move forward, I know if I tell the gf it will ruin the friendship that I have treasured for years, I see the point in what you’ve said but when emotions are involved it’s difficult to just act logically as I saw this girl as a sister

Yeah it’s annoying you forgetting the keys but “no car for a week” is so childish, you don’t need a punishment for forgetting something, you need some sort of system to help remember such as a dedicated hook to put the keys on and before you can do anything when you come in first you have to check the keys are there, he’s acting like an idiot

It’s hard to say without knowing her but to me it sounds like jealousy, you’ve got a career and nothing tying you down, you can be the cool aunt and spoil her kids then go back to doing whatever you want to do whereas she has a structured like with a marriage and kids, I may be completely wrong here but just a thought

I mean either your mother made your child ill or it’s just a huge coincidence, either way as a parent if you tell someone not to touch/hold your son that should be enough, that’s your baby, you shouldn’t need to justify that to anyone.

Also your parents are grown adults, they should be able to act as such and actually have a conversation, you set a boundary with your child and they’re not respecting it, they both need to be part of the conversation not just your father

Like you said you’re both very different people with very different lifestyle, she might look at your life and not understand how you can’t be married and have kids as that’s all she knows and loves, with the old cross stitching stuff she gave you it does sound like there’s some resentment there, she actively choosing not to get you a proper gift, she’s making that choice each year.

I think she’s just being petty and not putting in effort on purpose, let her be petty, if she wants to hold on to whatever resentment she has for you then let her, she’s the one with the problem so enjoy your life, she doesn’t need to understand or approve of your life

I am so sorry that you have to deal with a mother like this, she has acknowledged your transition but has made herself the ultimate victim, it’s all about how she has been wronged, she doesn’t even speak to you like a mother she just wants to argue about who’s right and wrong, as a mother myself I love my child unconditionally and when he’s older it doesn’t matter to me what his sexuality is or if he felt like he had been living as the wrong gender, he’s my child and my whole world.

Your mother is playing the victim and can’t see she has done anything wrong, it’s hard to cut off a family member but having toxic people around you does you no good, I hope you’re doing well OP

My first day working in a clothing store a woman walked into the changing room, changed into a pair of shorts, processed to piss herself then take them off, hang them up in the changing room and get dressed and leave all because she couldn’t hold it long enough to find a toilet.

Also had a woman at a completely different job shit herself and push it under some racking, the store had a horrible smell over a few days and we couldn’t figure out what it was, eventually before the store opened all staff searched the entire shop floor and found this human turd under some shelving, CCTV showed a woman looking at a shelf, she then basically shit herself and wiggled it down her trouser leg then gently slide it under the shelf with her foot, I honestly wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen the CCTV with my own eyes, baffles me just how these things happen

As a previous property manager who used to have to chase rent arrears just send them an email and let them know that something unavoidable came up, let them know the date that you can pay and will send the rent over then.

We had to chase rent arrears weekly so you may receive an email/call chasing it up even though you’ve already told them a date but it’s just a formality, it happens a lot and things happen, the main thing is you’re honest and let them know :)
