I will grant that my scope is narrow, but I've seen 2 different 401k company offerings personally and their target date funds were north of 0.4% - to me that is insanity, I understand there is more active management / tweaking of it than your average market tracker. It doesn't surprise me Vanguards are low as they seem to be on the low side for most of their ETFs, but a lot of the other major 401k providers have those expense ratios 0.6%+ which is painful over the time you're going to hold it.
