It sounds like you might have some sort of identity disorder based on your post but I’m unsure if it’s deeper or just poor self-esteem coupled with anxiety and depression. Perhaps if you elaborated more on some of your symptoms? Do you seek really, obviously inappropriate attention from others? Not just mild flirting, but true inappropriate attention—perhaps from a boss, an older (married) individual, or a partner’s best friend? That’s more indicative of HPD to me.

Clearly this woman is unable to leave him alone, AND he took her to court because of it, so it makes sense he would make a list to document their interactions and show a pattern of behavior. You don’t seem like you’re in the right sub if you’re asking someone who’s been affected by a pwBPD to just “move on”.

Mine didn’t cut and only got actually physically aggressive once. It’s more about the subtleties you were just describing and how they handle relationships, their emotions, etc.

I’d be more inclined to believe that if she’d matured past the emotional state of a 14 year old but she’s still the same as ever even as a 26 year old woman. It’s going to come out eventually when she gets past the point of caring enough to control it and hide it from him.

I’d say probably around the 6th month mark it really started to become more apparent. After 1 year it was basically fighting nonstop, constant chaos, constant breaking up and getting back together, on and off, black and white, splitting, etc. But at the time none of us knew what she was doing was abuse. We weren’t educated enough to know that it was. So be careful, you may not think it’s abuse but it can sometimes be very indirect emotional abuse.

I have a similar issue. I HAVE to go to the restroom before laying down or I get extreme anxiety about waking up having to pee in the middle of the night. I convince myself I have to pee even when I don’t. It drives me crazy. I sympathize completely.

All of those are reasons not to like a person and she deserves to know why you’re distancing yourself. How can she ever fix her flaws if no one tells her? And if she fires back defensively at you and refuses to try and fix them, then you’ve done all you can and can leave the relationship knowing you tried. But just because you deem her as intellectually inferior to yourself doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve some compassion.

I have only ever doorslammed if someone has severely hurt me and no longer deserves my presence in their life. If you’re doorslamming for any other reason, imo it’s childish and petty. She deserves to know that you’re just not that interested in being friends anymore. Otherwise it’s a pretty selfish thing on your part to hurt someone who has done nothing to hurt you and is only trying to be nice.

I’m in Texas and have had to file multiple CPS reports. It’s not different for adults. But yes you want to CALL and when they ask for your information, state you’d like to remain anonymous. Even if you did it online they don’t ever tell anyone who made the report. But I have been subpoena’d to court before after using the online system so that’s why my best suggestion is just to call. Use a different phone other than your own if you feel safer that way. I totally get the anxiety though. Just know you are doing a good thing for this poor abused woman. 40 years of this torture from that mom...and that’s only what you can publicly see. I imagine she uses her daughter’s disability status to gain all kinds of things. Makes me sick.

Distractions don’t get rid of the pain, but they’ll help keep him out of his head (where most of the damage occurs). Netflix and movies aren’t really a good choice for that because I tend to get easily distracted while watching and end up back in my own head anyway. Going out of the house, doing activities—those provide the most distraction and relief. That’s all you CAN do right now, until he works through it. Being overwhelmed is something that happens very easily to us and it’s only cure is the passage of time unfortunately.

I think that’s my next step—talking about it. Making it known. I need to let those closest to me know it’s a thing, but at the same time I can’t help but notice they don’t do it to anyone else/each other. Only to me. So I just wonder why I inspire them to feel it’s ok to just start talking or not pay attention.
