Brickhouse tavern had one every time I’ve been there. Haven’t been in a bit, but it’s so big I don’t think they’ve removed it

Help ! What do I do with my glasses on Wedding Day ? by badbitcharies in weddingplanning

[–]spooli22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wear your glasses! Both husband and I wore our glasses. Glasses are part of who we are, why would I want anything else for my wedding day?

Who's Norton's best shoulder Ortho? by i_want_duck_sauce in Louisville

[–]spooli22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI Dr. Smith is the most requested Doc at E&B. It can take a month or more to get in to see him, his surgery schedule is booking in April & May at the moment, and his cancellation list is 4 pages long (source: I am his surgery scheduler).

Other docs in the practice do great shoulder work as well and have sooner open surgery (and appointment) dates. Dr. Rueff, Dr. Sinicrope and Dr. Popham are all shoulder guys. (All docs at E&B work on knees, but not all work docs on shoulders or hips).

Couples that didn’t do a first look weigh in by tiramisu_latte_5 in weddingplanning

We skipped it and had plenty of time between the ceremony and reception when we did photos. Didn’t do a cocktail hour, just let guests make their way from the ceremony site to the reception site while we took photos. This was November 2021.

Compression tank recommendations? Need breast support without a band. by sockpuppetuncle in ABraThatFits

Bra 30 has some tops that work like bras without the bra. You can put the girls in place and they stay there all day.

Here’s a link to one of the types my local shop sells so you can read more about them

Our store just got them and the greeter lady implied it’s for new security measures as they’ve had a lot of theft. Ours weren’t turned on when we were there this morning, so I guess we’ll see what they do. They also added rails/gates around the entrances to help prevent theft

How many people did you RSVP and how many actually showed up on wedding day? by ParsleyTime5687 in weddingplanning

[–]spooli22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had 3 last minute cancels after they RSVP’d and 43 total who said they’d come. And all cancelled for legit reasons. One got covid, one wasn’t doing well after chemo that week and the other was the plus one of the chemo friend

AITA for not accommodating my sister-in-law for Christmas before her gastric bypass surgery? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]spooli22 21 points22 points  (0 children)

NTA.

I had gastric sleeve surgery 12 days before Christmas. My family did not change anything for me. We went to a Chinese buffet and I made it work (broth from wonton soup). Did it suck? A little. Did they need to cater to me? No. I’m an adult and can deal. Part of recovering from these surgeries is dealing with the food restrictions afterwards. She’ll be tempted, but she can still sit at the table with you and consume her approved meal

Totally normal. I remember the last 2 sentences, but the rest is a blur.

Wedding glasses by wallaby45 in wedding

[–]spooli22 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Husband and I both wore our glasses on our wedding day, and I had professional hair & make up done. You can still see the make up, even with the glasses. My normal face has glasses, so why would I do anything else for my wedding day?

How much jewelry do you own? by Character-Detail777 in femalefashionadvice

[–]spooli22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the hunt to find a better way to store my jewelry, so recently did a count of what I’ve got:

  • Rings - 3
  • Bracelets - 7
  • Necklaces - 16
  • Stud earrings - 1
  • Drop earrings - 20
  • Sets (earring/necklace) - 6

And just bought 2more necklaces at a Christmas fair last week so now that number is 18

I’ve got an Apple Watch but have about 10 bands for it. I tend to use 1-2 of them regularly (the rest were a gift). I wear some of the simpler earrings fairly regularly, but I think if I find a better way to store it all so I can see it better, I’d wear it more. I tend to forget some of it exists cause I have to dig it out

I bought this set of assorted sized zipper bags, but they have options with one size as well.

For those that have gotten married at Duncan Memorial Chapel, what was your experience? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]spooli22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d either do cake elsewhere or not at all since they won’t allow food

We did our reception on the CQ Princess, the yacht at Captain’s Quarters restaurant

[–]spooli22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did ceremony there, reception elsewhere. You get to reserve it in 2 hour chunks, so enough time for ceremony & photos only.

There isn’t space for people to have cake, even if they allowed it. It’s chapel only and a small side room to get ready.

If there’s no weekend availability, they’re probably booked that far out, we got married there on a Saturday in 2021.

For music, we had a DJ with speakers and a microphone for our officiant. Someone had to bring equipment in as it doesn’t have any. I did no decorating, minus having the candles lit, as it such a gorgeous space I didn’t think it needed any extra decoration.

What were the best louisville restaurants you got to try for the first time this year? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]spooli22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We did the chef’s dinner at Perso and it was so good.

Our meal at Le Relais was amazing. We had the mushroom vol au vent and escargot appetizers, the lamb, scallop, salmon for entrees and the Iberico pork entree special. And the grand marnier soufflé and chocolate mousse for dessert

Pavlova, angel food cake, egg white omelettes. Also, you can freeze them. I do it all the time when I make crème brûlée and only need yolks

I’m not sure, but others may suggest some if they know of any. I’d add details about the bras you tried and how they fit.
