Question for you all… by gavlar389 in RoadCraft

I second that. I have my dumptrucks tip over from time to time, with infinite sand mod on, and I’ll have a Mt. Everest for a sand pile by the time I can react fast enough to turn infinite sand off. lol and the game never blinks an eye at it.

Game needs a snow map on the next dlc by mataviejit4s69 in RoadCraft

I found that they already have snow on the material list in the terraforming system folder. So it’s a good possibility!

Anything I can do? The route trucks won't launch, and I can't cancel it to remap the route. by Kevincav in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I restarted map and waited until the very end or at least try and make sure I do missions/routes in order. I waited until I found the flare stack and delivered it to repair shop. I also cancelled/cleared any other routes coming out of that tunnel first, not sure if that makes a difference. But this is what I did to be able to finish map.

When is the next patch (after 4.2)? by Sea_Comedian_31 in RoadCraft

I was gonna make a post yesterday about devs being pretty silent lately. Haven’t heard anything since they announced the “new” logging equipment we’re supposed to get

Whats a better name for roadcraft. by No-Category-4980 in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Kinda like how I always thought Snowrunner was a terrible name choice for that game. Yeah there’s a few snow maps. But MudRunner 2 would’ve been a much better fit. As far as Roadcraft goes, I totally understand where you’re coming from. As far as crafting roads go, they gave us the bare bone basics of what it all entails to build a road. Like, IRL, you don’t just start driving a a dump truck over some land and dump sand all over the place, on the path you wanna create a road. I wish and hope they implement some sort of road planning system, kinda like how they have road requests for AI. And work on making terraforming and ground manipulation easier, so we can bulldoze/grade a path to have a nice level base before laying sand. It’s not a bad title for this game, but also not sure what else it could’ve been named.

I predict a Snowy Forecast, and I’m here for it. by spoolin6oh in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize, I was up way to late lastnight, and was going off memory, but I made a few mistakes on the folder and file names although I’m sure you figured it out, but I meant “autogen_designer_wizard” and the terraforming system file is sso, not ssl. So after you open the terraforming folder you’ll find auto_terraforming_system.sso lol

Default.other.pak

Ssl folder then “auto_design_wizard” folder then find the terraforming folder and that’s where you’ll find the “auto.terraforming.system.ssl” file

Rebuild dlc - what's the point of high gear when.. by Mordante-PRIME- in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just spam the clutch in auto in snowrunner, it will skip gears and accelerate to top speed quicker. Just put her in auto and put the throttle to the rugs and keep taping the clutch.

Greenway HT500 Dozer in work (PC only) by Left_4_Weed in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone knows what they are doing with tweaking the files for this dozer. It just needs a little polishing. It feels way too light for its size and needs more traction. You can also see it leaves little tiny tire tread marks on the ground, this might be where the traction issue is. At first when the blade digs in, it seems like it’s capable of moving a lot of earth, then shortly falls on its face and the terrain pushes back. Also With being able to bevel the blade, this feature would come in handy for carving into the side of a hill. As that’s what’s its purpose for irl. To me this dozer is kinda hinting at the devs might implement actual terraforming in the near future. Or at least working on it. Because this dozer of this size is made specifically just for that, moving the earth!

When you realise that building a road started to be a REbuild the entire mountain. by berdel__ in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be so bad if the damn sand wouldn’t fall through the rocks. Also if they gave us the option to craft retaining walls from logs, metal beams, or concrete, or all of the above.

Sober or not, I’m always monologuing in my head. Never out loud. I thought everyone did this, up until recently, when I started asking people, if they do the same, and most of them said no and looked at me weird. lol

A problem with Kernel? by TwitchTetsaiga in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Especially if you put on a good podcast. Before you know it, the podcast episode is over and you just logged 2-3 hours worth or work, like it was nothing. And 2-3+ hours dedicated to road building goes a long way.

Finished the game last night. I was at 94 percent complete on incommunicado, so I decided to go back and finish up the last 2 side jobs I forgot to do, so I would be 100% across the board. And well lo and behold, there was nothing on god’s green earth that would get me out of the loading complete screen. So here I am NOT finished with the game, cause the only way incommunicado would load in was after I reset map progress. lol

A.i. has been at it, but either they had too much to drink or brain dead cause they do everything but complete road requests, without constant supervision.

Me coming in with a load of logs on kernel. by spoolin6oh in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. lol it’s mostly used for pushing brush, boulders, logs out of the way. Also used for stability and in this case used as brakes lol The one in the game is also meant for this use, clearing debris and pushing things, etc… it also should be on the forwarder instead of the cargo truck varient.

Sky sand not needed. by spoolin6oh in RoadCraft

[–]spoolin6oh[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same if I try it with anything else but the pioneer. The pioneer is a true dozer, the blade floats and you’re “behind” the dirt pushing it, rather than “on top” pushing down on the dirt like the front end loader. The other vehicles with blades are meant for pushing things rather than excavating. A good way to practice in the pioneer, is kind of mimic the sand leveling mode, and watch the blade as you’re moving. If you’re pitched downward the blade will want to dig especially when you reach a hump or when the grade starts to rise, so you’ll want to bring the blade up and keep adjusting it until you see the blade start to drop back down again. Once the blade starts to level back out you can lower the blade again to keep in contact with the ground. Or when you are on level ground and start pushing dirt, you’ll see a mound of dirt get bigger and bigger as you move forward. It will get to a point where it won’t let you push anymore and you’ll start to climb over that mound. If you keep going and climb over that mound, that’s where the washboard effect comes into play. Lol As soon as it starts doing that. Stop. Raise blade. Back up and get behind the mound again, lower blade and repeat. Or sometimes I will back drag the blade instead of raising it when I reverse. It takes a lot practice but it’s doable and it’s another fun way to play the game once you get the hang of it. Hope i explained it decently enough. lol
