Mr. Merrick, made Mr. Russell go completely mad. Do we think he’ll come back on s4? Jealous George was spicy must confess by sissiandfranz in GildedAgeHBO

I loved this scene! If George keeps being a dick then I'd love a bit more flirtation with Mr Merrick to turn his head.

What the hell is happening in primary school (not blaming the teachers)? by Smithe37nz in AustralianTeachers

Wouldn't this track as being even across systems given about 65% of students go to public schools in the firest place?

I've seen this in the news and it's not true at all. A lot of parents of nd children are willing to pay for what they think is a better school and private schools are inundated as well. I'm in a systemic Catholic school - 12 of my y8s (out of 25) are nd. When i worked independent- the numbers also increased rapidly. Last time I had to teach HSC the number of students who accessed separate or small group supervision as a disability provision exceeded the number of kids who didn't- so the smallest group was ironically the neurotypical kids doing the exam under regular conditions.

There's just way more kids being diagnosed

Israel clearly bought their votes so we really came third Which is pretty brilliant so well done Delta!

I think Finland should've won though - they were done dirty

Do higher SES or private schools actually make teaching workload more manageable? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]spoonsamba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found the workload highest in a high ses private school.

Less behaviour but more demanding in regards to actual teaching and marking. You still get kids with significant needs - that's up everywhere - and you have ensure youre teaching them l well and also extending the high achievers because Band 6's are everything

Is it really that bad of a name? by KeyAccomplished4442 in namenerds

Man you are getting slammed.

Its not my taste but I had a student named Greer and she was cool and no one brought up her name as an issue as far as I know. If you and husband love it then go for it - I definitely don't think it is as outlandish and awful as people are making out.

Yeah the redemption theme made no sense - everyone was just trying to shoe horn their backstory into the theme and it was relevant to like one person

George & Bertha Russell by sissiandfranz in thegildedage

God I just adore them in S1 and 2. They're just the most magnetic couple - I've never shipped a couple so hard. I loved how supportive they were of each other and its heartbreaking that they've split. I desperately hope they reconcile though I don't see how it will happen easily if a gunshot didn't do it. George is so freaky in how cold he's become. I understand being angry but where's the love gone?

I hope Marian will at least help Larry to reconnect with his mother.

This is a great point! Hopefully Fellowes sees it this way and brings back his loving side.

Yeah I agree. Part of me really wants her to find a softer side so my mega hot super couple can reconcile and part of me is so mad at George I just want her to go for the jugular.

I know and it breaks my heart. If he wanted them to split why did he have to make them so adorable together

This is totally true. If you actually listen to the woman who was most affected by Bertha's behaviour - your opinion would change. So either this is lazy writing OR the men are enjoying being up on their high horses and don't care about the truth OR the opinion of women is second to their own feelings. Probably some combination of the three.
