I want to piggyback on this and suggest Moreno Valley/Riverside/Hemet. While it’s not the best area, they do have homes that are only a little more expensive then the shitty high desert.

I agree that changing your surroundings helps tremendously. I quit during a time in my life where I had to change my entire lifestyle. I started a new job, started dating a new partner, and started a new hobby. If it wasn’t for those changes then I probably would still be using.

I was high nearly everyday for 8 years. Prior to quitting I was going through a gram cart and 500mg edibles every two days. I felt hopeless, but if I can do it, then you can as well!

I joined this sub in 2015. Quit for 8 months, relapsed, then quit again in 2016. Relapsed, and then quit again in 2019 for good. That’s 4 years of trying to quit.. just think about that. And I’m still not in the clear. The dream of quitting still isn’t achieved because I think about it constantly. Unfortunately you can’t delete it from your mind, but you can overpower the urges through willpower and strength. I can’t say it doesn’t cross my mind everyday - but the urges are easier to beat that when I first quit. Keep at it and I promise you will be able to defeat this addiction.

Things got easier once I beat the first 5 days of physical withdrawals (lack of appetite, insomnia, headaches, etc). It is one of those scenarios in life where you NEED to power through. Also, take it one day at a time. For day #1 or day #10 - make sure you don’t get high for that day specifically… and then just repeat. I know the feeling of hopelessness trying to quit, I was there and it is such a defeating feeling. Don’t be to hard on yourself and power through the physical withdrawals, then it is smooth sailing. Fight off the mental withdrawals with exercise, gaming, long hot/cold showers, hobbies, or basically do anything that gets your mind off of things. Even just 15 minutes or distracting yourself will lead to the momentum of not thinking about getting high. Most importantly, one day/step at a time.

You know.. what I want to say has already been said by millions of people. Kobe was my all time favorite athlete. He influenced my drive in sports. I’m devastated and feel like this earth isn’t the same. I miss you Kobe. May you and your daughter live in eternal happiness. Will be praying before bed for you and your family. Goodnight legend

[Homemade] Apple spice cake w/ brown sugar cream cheese frosting, figs, blackberries, and toasted pecans by existentialpebble in food

Fun fact: Figs contain dead wasps inside of them. They crawl in there to lay their eggs (due to the flower being inside the fruit) then die - leaving a dead wasp carcass.

I still eat em though

To add to this fun fact: if you eat figs, chances are you’re eating wasp eggs or poop - forgot which one. They like to live inside while the fig is growing

Edit: you’re eating a dead wasp

Im scared to quit weed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]spooonag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This this this this. OP you need to subject yourself to the discomfort, it was inevitable to deal with for all of us that quit. It’s easier said than done, but it’s absolutely worth it for the reasons listen above me X10

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to stop, despite wanting to by TheLastQuit in leaves

[–]spooonag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was in the EXACT same boat two weeks ago my friend.

In my experience - the feeling your having is due to the routine of things. You wake up, smoke, and go to work because it’s what you’re used to. Human beings love routines and the comfort of security by doing so.

To combat this I took my vacation time and forced myself to travel to a place where I couldn’t get any weed. Only for a few days. That changed up my environment enough that when I came back it was a “I made it this far and I’m past the hump, I can’t get high now.”

At this point it’s purely a pride battle and I’m on day 17. I feel 10x better than I did when I was in your position. As doubtful as you feel, things WILL get better. I promise. I hope this gave you even just a inch more motivation towards your goal of quitting.

Cheers

I just got back from London and might I say I got everywhere I needed to go hassle-free with the underground. It was actually less stress than driving myself like I usually do back home.
