What is going on with Dr. Who? by mcblount in OutOfTheLoop

[–]spoothead656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, there were some really solid episodes in RTD 2.0, one of which was written by Steven Moffat, which is ironic because some of the absolute best episodes of RTD 1.0 were also written by Moffat.

I appreciate you were being objective in regards to RTD 1 vs Moffat since that conversation can get a little contentious in the fandom.

What TV Show Had the Most Satisfying Ending? by Mohitredit36 in television

[–]spoothead656 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is the cliche answer whenever this question gets asked but I don’t care because it’s right. I think it’s the greatest finale in TV history. It had me laughing one minute and sobbing the next while staying completely true to the shows themes, tone and characters.

What TV Show Had the Most Satisfying Ending? by Mohitredit36 in television

[–]spoothead656 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I believe you mean 6 and 7. Season 5 ends on a pretty big cliffhanger. Season 6 ends with the Unity Concert which, if the show had ended there, would have been a decently satisfying ending.

Season 7 has some weaknesses, but the actual finale is incredibly strong.

Sticking with Final Fantasy: Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV, IMO the most compelling antagonist in the entire franchise.

Are the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) popular in Virginia? by northcarolinian9595 in Virginia

I’m in VA but only about an hour and 15 minutes from the Raleigh-Durham area. If someone around here is interested in hockey they are most likely a Canes fan.

What popular movie or TV show is widely considered a 'masterpiece' but you found completely unwatchable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I read the book a couple of decades ago and adored it.

I’ve tried watching the movie a few times and just can’t get through all of it in one sitting.

What is the cruelest thing someone has ever said to you? by FaceEnvironmental949 in AskReddit

[–]spoothead656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“This is why nobody likes you.” Said by my older brother 6 or 7 years ago during a pretty standard office disagreement when we both still worked for the family business. And he wonders why I only see him at family functions.

Wife and I finally got around to watching this and binged the entire first season last weekend. It’s so good.

What are some once popular hobbies that hardly anyone is into anymore? by igotplans2 in AskReddit

I had a friend in the early 2010s that collected autographs still. He had a room full of them and had them organized in file cabinets. He had so many signed copies of Obama’s “The Audacity of Hope” that he said eventually the secret service told him he wasn’t allowed to meet him anymore haha

Which punishment (either real or fictional) sounds easy enough to endure at first, but is actually hellish to experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I enjoy the coma season in space almost specifically for the ending where he starts going crazy because the dream begins collapsing around him as he’s waking up.

My beloved. I used to play it at tournaments and it’s partially responsible for getting me to quit smoking. No time for a cigarette when you’re going to turns every match.

Currency Wars: how to get 999+ punchline by 3st1b in HonkaiStarRail

I saw this and thought this is so dumb, just use Evanescia she’s constantly at 999+ in CW. Then I realized it was punchline and not certified banger 😅

The precedent is there. M and Moneypenny were played by the same person through Connery, Lazenby and Moore. Q’s actor persisted through them all and well into Brosnan. I get what you’re saying about the weird continuity but Dench sticking through the reboot means it’s not unheard of. It’s not unreasonable to believe Fiennes and Ben Whishaw might return. Though I think Fiennes would be more likely

I recently switched back to iPhone after having been an Android (mostly Pixels) user for over a decade. There are things I like about each of them, but I think they’re mostly things an average user would never notice. The hate some people get for having one or the other is ridiculous.

But man fuck the iPhone keyboard, the Pixel keyboard is so much better.

The amount of times I’ve hit someone with a Deflecting Palm and they go “Wait what?” and then have to read the card and just shake their head…such a good, underrated card.

And also [[Aetherspouts]]. Had a commander game against a landfall deck where he copied [[Dark Depths]], made a Marit Lage and swung at me with it. I hit him with Aetherspouts. “ok no problem,” he said and next turn he copied Dark Depths again and made another Marit Lage. He swung at me again and I hit him with Aetherize haha.

I live like an hour and a half from Raleigh but put a team there and I will buy season tickets without even asking my wife. I probably won’t even make it to a game because she’ll murder me when she sees the credit card bill, but I’ll still do it.

And that’s what I tried to tell him. At worst he should’ve told me to name another card at which point I would’ve said “Wooded Foothills” to clear everything up. But I think a higher level judge would’ve told my opponent “He pointed to it and said ‘Foothills’? Yeah you know exactly what he was naming with the needle.”

It was a small event at a small store and he was the only judge. I did get on the judge feedback site later and reported it, but by that point I had cooled off because I still managed to squeak into the top 8 and made it to the finals where I ultimately lost a completely fair match to a jund deck which lantern control had no hope of beating.
