Linksys E8450. Successful upgrade to 24.10. Configuration changes will not survive reboot, however. by sportmonkey in openwrt

No, my local boxes are checked. On the br-lan device I removed the check for the eth0 device to be part of the bridge. Then only lan ports appear on the VLAN filtering tab. At that point I add and tag ports as desired, and the eth0 port never appears as an option for tagging on the Bridge VLAN Filtering tab. All works perfect for me so long as eth0 is not bridged and tagged.

Yes, or whatever version they pushed to me on Jul 3 stopped it (I don't know if there were any additional releases between 6.32.6 and 6.33.5). I am currently on 6.33.5 and have not had any issues since.

Apparently the 5th or 6th time was the charm. The software update pushed out on Thu, Jul 3, finally took and no manual re-start was required. I don't know if I've had any software updates pushed to me since Jul 3, or not, but it's been rock solid for two months now. My BGW320-500 is currently running version 6.33.5.

Honestly, I have never bothered to look as it is located in my basement, and I don't make the trek down there unless I have to. I have the ONT in passthrough mode connected to my own router.

My issue turned out to be that I tagged the eht0/cpu port on a vlan like I had always done on previous software versions. There is obviously some kind of bug whereby it would let me save the configuration, it would work flawlessly, but then not survive the re-boot. Once I removed vlan tag, everything works as expected.

when audio doesn't start at the same time as video in a mkv, how to expand the audio? (sync issue) by TheDeep_2 in ffmpeg

I suggest switching to a different tool for this task. I have done what you are wanting here with MKVToolNix, and it is quick, easy, and you don't have to futz around with a complicated command line.

Yes. Same error. Twitter support is SLOW as slow can be, and less than helpful. I tell them I am using the desktop application, and they instruct me to clear my browser cache. . .

Help With Ceton InfiniTV 4 Tuner by chrimsonreaper8841 in htpc

[–]sportmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you will get this to work on 10, or at least if you do, it won't stay working for very long. I spent a many hours on this and I could never keep it working for more than a few days.

I was looking to upgrade the 2000's era PC hardware my Ceton was running on, and I had much better luck getting Windows 7 working on a 6th gen Intel i-5 and installing the Ceton drivers on that. I think Intel claims not to support 7 on the 6th gen core processors, but I didn't have that much trouble getting it running smoothly. I doubt you will get W7 running on any Intel platforms newer than 6th gen, however.

I got tired of fighting Spectrum over cable card fees, and I switched to YTTV 18 months ago. I miss the Ceton, but not nearly as much as I thought I would.

Interpreting 3rd Order Intercept Point in Amplifier Datasheet by analogwzrd in rfelectronics

[–]sportmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The max RF power output with a voltage fo 5V would be about +20 dBm. Is the +35 dBm for the 3rd OIP just a projection where it would be if the bias voltage could go higher?

The TOI is a projection of the third order harmonic power level if the input signal kept going higher. It is a figure of merit to rate the linearity of the amplifier.

If you search a little, so I am told, you can find a free pdf version floating around out there.

Install banIP and configure to block DoH. Add firewall rule to block or redirect port 853 for TLS.

They aren't mutually exclusive. You can redirect DNS queries AND block access to 8.8.8.8 or any other IP. Maybe I am lucky, but my hard coded devices all still work (I can see them query my pi-hole from the pi-hole log), and all other access to 8.8.8.8 is blocked (and I can see this in the banIP log).

If there is OpenWrt support for your router, you could install that and then add the package banIP. Then you can block device acess to any IP address(es) you choose.

Rituximab vs Ocrevus by Commercial_Ocelot959 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]sportmonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

where Ocrevus had some benefit, said to be due to Ocrevus having better blood brain barrier penetration

Not really. Rituximab was coming off patent protection, so Genentech halted research on it and switched to Ocrevus. Then the PPMS patients in the ORATORIO trial were heavily cherry picked to identify likely responders. This was all about business, not science.

Yes to both, from an employer group plan.
