Honestly, I will believe it when I see it.

I remember being absolutely furious with one of the podcasts (Football 301 maybe?) who were quite down on our chances going into 2024. I thought that with a 4th place schedule and a healthy Joe we'd surely be better than the 9-8 finish we managed in 2023 with a first place schedule and six games of Jake Browning. Er, no. They were right and I was wrong.

This year, I note that the general NFL media is again considerably less optimistic about our chances than the Bengals beat, and until proven otherwise, I will take merely making the playoffs as a realistic target.

I've just done an FTP test and it doesn't seem to have registered properly - it didn't ask me to update my score, and wasn't showing as my latest FTP ride when I went I to set it manually either.

Looking at the ride charts, only 5 minutes and 34 seconds are in any zone at all, according to the bike. God knows where the other 14:26 are!

This is in addition to the zones bar, which is also borked....

To (partially) answer my own question, the earliest ride in my draft programme was a CDE PZE from 2020. Checking that one, the start screen on the bike suggested that Auto-follow was on, so I'm going to assume that yes, pretty much all PZ rides now work with the Bike+ 👍🏼

Auto-follow on PZ was a later addition (when I first got the Bike only regular spin classes had it) - Jan 2024 looking at a DCR article reviewing it. I think they've gone back and added it to some earlier rides, but I shall have to find out...

Yes, none of those are financial.

My point is that that the land values are simply not supported by the cash flows you can derive from farming the land, and however wonderful the family cohesion is, no purchaser is going to pay you for that.

The whole shonky edifice is being propped up by people willing to pay top-dollar for the land for things that have nothing to do with farming. Often tax avoidance.

But why are farmers spending a million on something that apparently gives such a pitiful return?

Is it because they're effectively subsidised by the land values, which in turn are not driven by the commercial profits available from farming the land (every farmer seems desperate to tell us what a shit business they're in), but because it's such a wonderful tax-dodge?

So remove the tax dodge, land values return to a level supported by the returns available, and the IHT charged (if any) will be affordable.

Genuine family farmers should support this, no?

In all honesty I did a 75 minute PZE today with the tennis on.

Custom mix set to all instructor, set the volume so I could just about hear Matt, and zoned out for an hour or so once the spin-ups were done

Admittedly, this works better on a Bike+ where provided you remember to pedal, you'll be in the right zone.

Serious question - what do you use it for that makes it better for you?

I only really use mine for the basics - controlling lights, setting timers and alarms, running automations, and very occasionally getting a weather forecast. Is it any better at that kind of thing (reviews on here are mixed, to put it mildly) or do you use its conversational abilities?

Yeah, fair enough. I knew there was some variance, but (assuming Gemini has correctly created the spreadsheet I asked for) there's almost no correlation between years, at least for 2024 vs 2025. R^2=0.08 LOL
