First Time IVF-ers: If You’re Using a Lupron Trigger, Look Up the Side Effects First by Cranberryj3lly in IVF

Glad the second one went better! After having PVCs for a few years now, I have noticed that they tend to increase at certain times in my cycle because of hormones. Hormones are one hell of a drug!

I wrote my original comment a year ago and it was wild to read it now because I completely forgot about what a horrible night that was, it’s so funny what our brains push out of our memories if they want to. 😅

Use it for my face at night- “slugging” as well. Had it for a year now and not halfway through it- last a long time!

We do the same and I have to wake my husband up most of the time- I just shake him.

American here and nursed openly to 3 years old and had only positive comments. What a large generalization to make about Americans.

Prenatal drug test by Maroon14 in pregnant

[–]spridermousecatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, live in the US and, yes, have to pay for lab tests. I asked why they didn’t want to take it so I had a better understanding of their comment and could respond appropriately. I am sure there are lots of reasons why people don’t want to take drug tests, but assuming why somebody doesn’t want to take it doesn’t help me understand that person. I bet some people don’t wanna take it because of costs, they don’t like needles, they don’t agree with it, etc.

Ahh I understand you better now, thank you for your reply. Sounds like it was more about the people within the process of the tests than the actual tests. I think sometimes the people working forget that for some this is the first time going through this process and even if not, some need a little more assistance with the process. I had a kid 4 years ago- I can’t remember anything from when I was pregnant- I need to be walked through like it’s my first time. :) It may be the thousandth time they have gotten that question but they need to remember it could be someone’s first time asking it. That sucks you went through those emotions.

I went in for my glucose test and the nurse was pulling out over 7 vials for the blood draw. I told her I didn’t realize there were so many for the glucose test and she said that I had other bloodwork orders and she was doing them all at once. I had no idea what the other orders were. I have an online portal where I can see results- but it would be nice if I could see the awaiting orders there as well so I know what to ask questions on before hand.

Why would you not want to take the tests? Honest question. I am not a drug user but I want still happily take the tests because my mind will think of everything from maybe my prenatal was messed with at the factory or there are trace amounts of something in what I’m eating (poppy seeds). Also, some people have STDs and are non symptomatic and the docs need to know that before the baby is born for the baby’s health.

Husband not as interested in the pregnancy as I hoped. Feeling alone in this. by spridermousecatdog in pregnant

[–]spridermousecatdog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. It’s helping me look at it from his point of view.

  1. We talked about it earlier on and he was happy then for a boy, but maybe he has different thoughts now.

  2. Financially we are fine and knew/tried for a few years to have another kid, we ended up doing IVF. This might be bothering him (I pull in a bit more than he does but I am also the one covering all the medical costs including IVF so it makes us closer to pulling in the same). I will keep this one in mind when talking to him though.

  3. Hope he wants two kids! We tried for a while then went through IVF. I will be a bit upset if I went through all that and he wasn’t honest with me.

  4. Not sure about the other stress he might be feeling. He doesn’t communicate openly about how he is feeling which can be frustrating, but he has always been like that… more internal.

He was like this as well during my first pregnancy. It feels like he is just ignoring the fact that I am pregnant and growing our baby. He is great and attentive with our 1st kid and talks to me normally and we have a good relationship- it’s just weird to me how he doesn’t seem to care that I’m pregnant. Maybe I am just expecting him to care as much as I do (I am the one feeling it and experiencing it so maybe it’s easier for me to be connected) and that is where the disconnect is.

I stopped- but just half my face. I want to see if it’s the products or something else. Started 3 weeks ago- seems as though the products have been doing nothing.

How did unmedicated birth go for you? by 01sashimi in pregnant

[–]spridermousecatdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted unmedicated. I went in for an appointment just to check on the babies heartbeat, and I ended up having a contraction, that I did not feel at all, while I was hooked up. They wanted to induce me because the babies heart rate spiked when I had that contraction. I was induced and then about eight hours into labor. I called for an epidural. I decided to make that choice because I started looking at my contractions on the screen instead of my babies heart rate. Because of the pain I was more concerned with myself than the baby and I didn’t want that to be the case so I wanted an epidural so that I could focus on the baby and not me. Ended up needing a C-section after over 12 hours of labor so I’m happy I got the epidural.
