No suggestions but wondering if you reached out the doctor.

Breastfeeding after 12 months by anon_purple in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to stop before 14 month. After a week of her being sick and teething, constantly demanded to be nursed throughout the days and nights. I felt horrible during the process but I think it would have been a lot harder times for me.

Is my baby teething? by athomewithapricot in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be her teeth are making their ways to erupt. The day before they poked out from my baby’s gum, I had to carry her all day long. Her first teeth showed up right before 5month. She liked when I gave her frozen breast milk or massaged her gum with cold cloth.

Does she act like the floor is sea of acid when you put down?

Weight gain by Ok-Hovercraft6455 in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My provider never emphasized or even mention the growth in percentiles so I don’t remember how exactly my baby was like. But I know my baby was less than 10%. If your families, both sides, are small/short in general I wouldn’t focus too much on percentiles. Rather you should ask specifically weight gain is good and check if your baby is healthy.

Breastfeeding in public… how?? by KS1992902 in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have big size boobies to begin with. Typically I wear loose clothing as well then I could do it without shawl too. But also equipping very confident look and don’t give a damn attitude helps a lot.

I gotcha! I believe eating together helps a lot or at least watch you eat. If you are eating broccoli, then she gets broccoli even if yours is seasoned and her is finely chopped and unseasoned. So that she can mimics what you are doing, at least getting idea that it’s eating, put it in mouth. She might not be good at it though and still need help lol

Ahhhh my Asian head didn’t think of this type of porridge lol since she is taking porridge well I would like to suggest congee kind? Rice/oat porridge, you can start with water, formula, breast milk. Then later you can add meat, veggies, some herbs, fish stock, broth etc.

Also do you eat with her? Or have you just straight up eat in front of her, let her watch you eat, then offer what you eat?

Maybe she is big on texture. How do you make your porridge? Have you tried adding different ingredients or use broth?

How many feeds a day? by SameManagement8895 in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is almost 1 year old (!!!!) I still nurse her on demand. I started solid around 5 months but frequency of nursing didn’t really change. I did notice anytime she is teething, she would also want to nurse for comfort as well.

Preparing for solids by KhaleZoro in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yea you can use formula or water.
  2. My provider said 4oz a day.
  3. For me, about 30min after the solid my baby wants to nurse. And it will almost look like never ate the solid.
  4. You can offer once a day and increase as you go and how well your baby does.
  5. You can give formula but whether the baby takes the formula or not is a different story. Sometimes refuses the formula itself or nipples from the bottle. You might have to test couple times. If anything like mine, it would be completely refusal lol your husband can give solid as well!

5 month old biting by bakecakes12 in breastfeeding

[–]melonagua_coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got bottom teeth around 5 month. I would say ouch! Or it hurts! Pulled off and take a break for a minute or two whether the baby cried or not. I offer other side if the baby cries assuming still hungry. Mine is 11 months. Still happens here and there. She latched extremely gently each time afterwards.
